Teri Hatcher hasn't been seen much of late - and she looked anything but desperate as she treated herself to a shopping trip wearing a very colourful jeans.

Teri looked trim and much younger than her 48 years in the bright orange pants as she browsed in an Urban Outfitters store in LA.

She teamed the colour pop jeans with practical loafers and a sober grey blazer with leather trim.

The California-born actress may have been shopping for some new pieces that were in-keeping with her bold and youthful style.

The Urban Outfitters chain, which launched as Free People in the seventies, specialises in hip, urban clothing with a vintage feel.

The store also sells underwear, which may be of interest to the star after she got rid of some old bras at a jumble sale last month.

The Celebrity Yard Sale was held to support a favourite charity of Teri’s, the Juvenile Arthritis Association.

Teri seemed to love taking part, telling The Huffington Post: 'Everyone loves going through other people's things, even me!'

She has kept herself busy since her role as Susan Meyer in Desperate Housewives ended with the series last year.

Teri recently guest starred in the Disney cartoon series Jake and the Never Land Pirates as the voice of Beatrice Le Beak.

In the episode, she provides a free-spirited and energetic voice to her gutsy character who steals from Captain Hook.

The New Adventures of Superman actress will soon face competition from Amy Adams as the quintessential Lois Lane when film Man of Steel is released next month.
