And so it ended.

Well, a few things have happened.

1. Google deleted the thread asking them to contact me for more information. Admittedly, it had turned into a shitstorm of abuse. They have not contacted me, despite the fact that several Google employees have been active in that forum over the period that it was posted.

So, I take this to be a sign that we should accept that our block is not going to be overturned, nor are they willing to communicate why.

So be it, that’s their right. They’re a company, and can do whatever they feel is best for them. I find it to be a slightly impolite way to treat someone, but whatever.

2. You may have noticed that one of our front page posts from FAKKU disappeared. Someone reported the post to one of their advertising companies, and the advertising company requested it pulled or they would cease business with FAKKU.

Again, this is their right. In fact, I applaud the advertising company for being open about what they wanted from FAKKU. They don’t wish to be associated with loli, as said as much.

FAKKU did what was right for them, and complied. I strongly support this decision by Jacob, I have no wish to see the FAKKU community harmed because of our little translating site. We can work around this. FAKKU cannot work around a lack of advertisers.

Click through for more, this is getting too big for just the front page.

So that’s the situation.

As for where we go from here, I think fighting this in a traditional sense is going to be futile. I don’t even know who or what we’re up against. WordPress seems to have declared support for us in that they haven’t deleted us yet. They’ve surely received a load of complaints over the last few days, but we’re still here. For that I thank them, and urge you to support them if you can.

We have no intention of stopping what we do. Google is not that important. FAKKU is a loss, but not the end of the world. And there’s hope that we can figure something out there anyway, Jacob is a strong supporter and will do what he can.

The only real danger to us now is that someone in authority comes across this and feels that we’re a big enough danger that we should be quashed. I’m relatively safe personally as a Japanese resident, but some of my colleagues are not so fortunate. I know the urge to protest and voice your anger at these actions is strong, but ultimately it could lead to trouble for us.

What you can do to help is undo the damage that the loss of Google and FAKKU has done. It’s harder for new people to find us now. Repost our stuff to any friendly board, forum, filedump, or whatever that you can find. Post links. Tell your friends. Spread the word, because people are much less likely to find us in the traditional ways any more. We do this as a hobby, and our reward is the thanks of thousands of people who enjoy our work. It’s a great feeling to know that something you did is appreciated, and the more people the better. :D

Finally, thanks to all those who offered their support over the last couple of days. Especially, I’d like to thank those that don’t particularly like our work but wished to support our right to do it. You are a shining example of how a citizen should behave, and I am deeply grateful.

If I may close by quoting Charlton Heston on the subject of Civil Disobedience:

But what can you do? How can anyone prevail against such pervasive social subjugation?

The answer’s been here all along.

I learned it 36 years ago, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., standing with Dr. Martin Luther King and two hundred thousand people.

You simply…disobey.

Peaceably, yes. Respectfully, of course. Nonviolently, absolutely.

But when told how to think or what to say or how to behave, we don’t. We disobey social protocol that stifles and stigmatizes personal freedom.

I learned the awesome power of disobedience from Dr. King…who learned it from Gandhi, and Thoreau, and Jesus, and every other great man who led those in the right against those with the might.

Disobedience is in our DNA.

  1. Truly a disgrace, but as you say, it’s more important not making too big a fuss of this. There’s always a way out. As for myself, I’ve been following with joy your work and will do what is in my hand to help – reposting stuff via twitter.

I don’t accept it was right to censor the truth by either website. They are cowards, willing to sacrifice what is most important to stay out of trouble.

If people keep folding, the moralfags will win. They know how to abuse the system in their favor. They’ll keep contacting advertisers and webhosts with lies, false claims, and ultimatums.

The next step is they’ll report your blog to WordPress. The next step is they will success is pushing a harmless form of entertainment into a crime or seedy hobby, just because they have to push their views on others.

No one is taking away a person’s right to not view material they don’t wish to. They are taking away others’ rights to be able to choose what they want to view.

Its very sad to hear this. I do believe my country(Singapore) takes CP even more strictly than the US. So i believed that you guys will be ok, since you’re out of reach of such jurisdiction. Then again, i also feel that google had a point in doing what they did. On paper, it says that these isnt CP. But perhaps they felt personally that it was. Subjective views are also in our DNA. What we felt was ok they felt it as something that was unsuitable for appearing in their site, which will indirectly represent them as a whole. Whatever the reason,i will spread this site where i can. Not because i’m particularly interested in these kind of doujins(who am i kidding, huh? ^-^’)but because i feel there are other people with different views on things, and that they can come here and freely express their difference in opinion.

It is silly to expect Bing (or anyone else) would act differently from Google in this situation.

The only reason LWB is still in the Bing search results is because the people who sent the complaint to Google didn’t do so for Bing as well.

I’d hate for us to make a huge fuss, then get those people who let this type of stuff go angry, then they retaliate by trying to fabricate reasons for this site to be shut down, or anything else.

Maybe its better for us just to spread the word and get people to the site ourselves rather than relying on Google or other places.

I think we can come back from this. Its never the end.

  2. The morality mob needs someone to pick on. They can’t bash homosexuals anymore (at least not in public), and the “play quake -> school massacre” theory was kind of short-lived. The next big thing seems to be imaginary rapists and pedophiles. I think that with the internet getting more and more accessible to the often impulsive and narrow-minded public, things like this will get more common. I just hope people will be able to distinguish opinion from reason. Not sure Google did in this case.

I would rather gouge my eyes out than look at some of the stuff posted here, but this taste/opinion-based censorship is bullshit. Hope things work out for the better for you <3

      • April 21st, 2010

I am amazed you can find this to be close to CP and yet not find 90% of movies to be criminal because they depict fake violence and sometimes murder. Never ever equate anything fictional with anything real because you end up banning everything.

        • Anonymous

Seeing the easy acces of minors to all this and look at the society today. You kill 20 peaople almost none cares, you abuse a child almost everyone will care. This is the new witch hunt even thow they are right in same way.

    • John
    • April 21st, 2010

    @Anonymous

Fictional crime, is not real crime. Thoughts are not actions. Fantasy is not reality. Lines are not children.

If you ban fictional crime depictions involving rape or child abuse, then you must ban all fictional crime including violence. Pretty much every piece of entertainment ever release falls under these situations. Is that what you want?

Everyone always says depictions of rape and child abuse lead to the real thing, but they never say depictions of violence and murder lead to the real thing. The cold hard facts backed up by studies is there is zero evidence that people do something just because they see it.

If you can’t tell fantasy from reality, then you are the problem, not the media.

      well i’m anonymous
you’re right but you see there are sometimes problems that appear when kids find on internet ou use adult content. a very well given exemple kids going to school with firearms and start shooting. of course there were a lots of factors involed(violent games or movies or tv/ easy acces to firearms, violent society, etc) but that started lots of arguments in USA. It is the same thing with CP the only thing is that you can be a rapist or a mass murderer and when you go to jail you won’t have that much problems as if you would abuse a singe child. This is ous society today and that is why google does that…
Even if i understand and a i agree at 50% with the i admit they exagerated. But look at google china they lifted the ban word even if the site will be ban in China all due to public opinion.

        • Christopher
        • April 21st, 2010

No. Simply put, those children have usually not seen ANYTHING violent before in their lives or adult stuff before they do stuff like that.

That was proven by the Columbine case, those kids had NEVER played a violent video game, NEVER watched a over pg-13 rated movie, etc.!

        IT WAS A LIE!

        • John
        • April 21st, 2010

You are still mistaken. It is true that sometimes violence is in the spotlight, but rarely, compared to think of the children western puritan culture bullshit. When people see child and porn in the same sentence, their brain shuts down and all logic escapes.

It isn’t because media makes a person do something, it’s because they are already interested in it. They are already mentally ill before they see their desires in fiction. Even if you stopped all forms of that media getting to them, they are just as likely to commit the crime.

If violent media created violent criminals, we’d all be murdering people.

Fictional media including child abuse or rape won’t cause people to go out and rape people either, but people continue to go against the logic because they are brainwashed and braindead.

I have never visited this website before but I have seen some of your releases on e-hentai. I don’t think being removed from Google will make any difference to the distribution of your releases as I would imagine that most see them on sites other than this one. Besides, the site is still easy to find on Google since the third match is Baka Updates which has a link to this website (that’s how I got here).

From a practical sense I don’t see this changing anything. The more worrying thing here is the general trend of moralist lunatics fighting for the rights of fictional people. These people seem to pop up with any trend, be it rock music, violent films, rap music, violent games and now hentai. They have been largely unsuccessful in the past and will likely fail once again. They do seem to have achieved a few minor victories such as this and the censoring of e-hentai for users who don’t have the Ads-Be-Gone perk, but I think it’s going to be near impossible for them to censor the entire internet.

Content such as the Prison Girl manga is probably already illegal under US Obscenity laws and UK Extreme Pornography laws, but despite that most people on the internet don’t care and are continuing to download it anyway. When so many people are downloading content similar to this trying to ban it is going to be as hard as when the US tried to ban alcohol – it’s just not going to happen.

Anyway, keep up the good work. In the mean time I’ll do my bit by abandoning Google and switching to Bing (I don’t like Microsoft but I now like Google even less).

What the hell is wrong with you? You have the biggest opportunity to fight for what’s right, and you know it.

You’re definitely going in the wrong direction on this.

As far as Google is concerned, yes, it is their right to remove you from the index. However, this directly means they are being hypocritical. They are voluntarily censoring a site that has done nothing wrong, and the legal request they cite for censoring you is incorrect on all accounts.

“As for where we go from here, I think fighting this in a traditional sense is going to be futile.” – This is the worst statement you could of made. You have the capability to act and are choosing not to. You’re choosing to let rights be impeded on in favor of being an accepting sheep to avoid trouble or damage to people reputations.

Reputations will be tainted. People will say things. You should consider it a blessing that’s all that can happen. People had to give their lives ~234 years ago for this.

It’s wrong, and you know it, and you’re accepting it just to save yourself a bit of trouble. How about finally turning around the public opinion about this topic instead of letting it continually strip away at your rights.

A lot of people put a lot of time into supporting to you over the last couple days, meaning people are willing to act. Doing this makes you no better than Christopher Handley, who just plead guilty without having his case heard before court.

Fight, what the hell is wrong with you?

      • Torwyn
      • April 21st, 2010

Komidol, our main concern at this point isn’t Google and whether or not they can censor our site. It’s obscenity laws. They’re much like music piracy laws, in that they are very rarely enforced, but those targeted by them are screwed. It’s like winning a lottery in reverse. Just google “red rose stories” and take a look at what happened there. The woman in charge of that site had text-only stories, a mere 29 subscribers, a valid argument for passing the Miller Test, support from the community, and plenty of First Amendment lawyers behind her, and her chances of fighting off obscenity charges were still low enough that she ended up giving in and pleading guilty. Not only that, the judge in charge of the case wanted to throw her in jail anyway, and only conceded due to outside pressure.

Every hentai site, including the big ones like Fakku and E-Hentai, has only a quasilegal status, and keeps going by virtue of not drawing too much attention to themselves from the law. Simply put, we’re not worth the effort. But the longer this Google thing continues, the more attention LWB draws, and the chances of us being among the lucky few to get hit by obscenity laws skyrocket.

It’s not about reputation, or saving ourselves some trouble. This has the potential to ruin our lives, and I for one am not going to risk jail time just to tell Google off.

        • komidol
        • April 21st, 2010

        Torwyn,

Chances are, if these people were to actually fight obscenity laws in court, I doubt (given Justice Roberts response to the Miller test recently) it would be upheld, but it is a lot of trouble, and you would be risking your life; much like our forefathers did. Don’t get me wrong, I understand where you’re coming from, but you have the golden opportunity and you’re passing up.

I just hope you don’t regret the decision and have the same opinion in ten years. Or the right to even have the opinion. Regardless, it’s yours to make, and not mine.

        Good luck to you.

I’m not worried about obscenity laws. They are unconstitutional and completely undermine the 1st Amendment. The SCotUS has already ruled a person has the right to privately view obscene material in their home.

It’s a loophole to remove what others don’t want instead of ignoring it. Just like the guy reporting all theses sights to Google and advertisers.

I swear Think of the Children is going to destroy the internet if we don’t stand up between all the morons and secret government blacklists.

It’s a good point. Courts when they do enforce it, tend to use the “make an example out of them mindset and give completely unjustified sentences.

Just keep low, bigots will plague humanity forever. As the information age has shown, it’s not the flow of information, but the extreme thick-headedness of some people that are the problem.

Unlike the lottery, being chosen for prosecution is not random.

The government, ie, the enemy, will carefully cherry-pick cases where the defendant is willing to just give up, is bad at representing themselves, and has a bad lawyer.

They will quietly drop or never begin cases which would mean a real fight, and home in on the people who look like they would just plead guilty.

Anyway, with regard to the Boogle delisting,

You might be safe if you stay in Japan, but do be careful if you’re a US citizen or ever plan on entering the US.

If you’re a US citizen, it doesn’t matter where you are if US law enforcement decides loli is illegal, breaking American law as a citizen is illegal wherever you are.

And if you enter the US and you’re flagged, expect customs to comb through your computer and possessions regardless of citizenship.

I frequent Fakku quite a bit and see many of your releases posted there. Though a lot of the work you guys do isn’t exactly my cup of tea, I have no problem with others reading and enjoying it. Don’t let the morality police over at Google intimidate you into closing shop. I have to say I respect your attitude. I’d be really irritated if I were you. Have you considered simply making a new site with a new name and pretending you’re unassociated with this group? It really sucks, but I’d hate to see you just give up because of this.

    • April 21st, 2010

I was surprised when your thread got deleted, as a number of us were posting in it quite frequently. The behavior of the so called Google representatives there was pretty ridiculous, and it seems all they know how to do is spread slander and hate speech, and remain completely silent about any actual inquiries.

I guess this is a sign that even Google is not above misuing the law for baseless censorship. What was the point of that whole China squabble (or rather, squibble), then? Oh well.

  3. The comment above by Torwyn summarises the issue much better than the actual post did. YQII also provided a very plausible explanation to it, with which I would personally be inclined to agree. And please komidol, you would be better off trying to understand what is happening here rather than pointlessly raging at a situation that obviously escapes your grasp.

Yes, Google removed this blog by invoking “Child Pornography”, while the relevant US laws under which the material hosted here could be [easily, dare I say] deemed illegal would have been “Obscenity laws”. Yes, that potentially makes Google hypocritical in the eyes of a small minority of people that are aware of what is happening – and most importantly, that don’t view everyone that wishes to protect this material as “sick fucks” by default.

As a company, both Google and FAKKU made the right choice as far as their public image goes. Get over it, and fight back not by thoughtless fury but rather by peaceful perseverance. What we must seek is to strike down the vague “Obscenity laws” – and, in general, to prevent the spread of ethically authoritarian ideals – rather than questioning the individual choices of companies/organisations.

      • mewofforcena
      • April 21st, 2010

No, they didn’t. If you want to ‘make the right choice’, you don’t completely ignore the people involved, even if you don’t comply with their demands.

    • anon
    • April 21st, 2010

Azarius you are clueless, right choice? hardly. Obscenity laws would ban a huge portion of random websites including anal, scat, piss, s&m and domination that small list isn’t even the start. So let me ask why haven’t all scat websites been pulled as well? Before you cite obscenity laws realize homosexuality was enough get you killed/arrested because of obscenity 60 years ago.

Let’s not play the card “obscenity” otherwise you’ll find yourself with laws against every violent, sexual or offensive media.

You must be from the UK where you get arrested for drawing stuff offensive muslims, if obscenity laws were ‘correct’ you’d be living without type of media freedom. It’s so fucking stupid to see people defend obscenity laws, guess what dude the number of soccer moms outnumber you and they want fucking porn and violent video games banned because they’re obscene. WHICH THEY ARE, but obscenity laws are fucking bullshit.

Yes, they made the right choice from a corporate point of view: they must take into account the opinion of the people on whom they rely for their money. As I previously wrote, Obscenity laws should be what we fight against, *not* Google. These laws are vague and have no purpose other than that of enforcing a certain hypothetical “right of people to not be offended”, which shouldn’t be the role of the State.

While part of me agrees that we’re backing down from the good fight, there’s another problem that you’re missing. Yes, we could fight censorship and maybe even win. But our opponents simply would want to see us locked up, no matter what for. If they wanted, I’m sure they could get us for copyright infringement, or some other trumped up offense.

Winning the battle is no good if you lose the war.

But in general, the situation pisses me off. Especially since google pulled you from the index worldwide because of a retarded US situation. I’m sitting in Germany here, Germany wasn’t involved, and you’re not on our index, either.

    • April 21st, 2010

I have to agree about taking cover to avoid getting caught up in a bigger storm, also that Google has the right to remove LWB from its index (though using a legal farce is screwed up)

To say the least, problem with obscenity laws is the inconsistency of standards involved (even in the Miller Test) due to the varying perspective. Those involved in the Test / Standard have the probability of either supporting the prosecution (as in only these type of people have been called in) or related to the prosecution. Either way, both are literally methods which can be employed to force the prosecution’s personal belief on others. (In this case, forcing the closure of this site on the worse case) Thus to say, the legal loophole regarding obscenity is very great.

Laws that allows such materials vary greatly in various countries. Example is the UK and of course, the land of no freedom where the overmind wants to control every aspect of your life (think of a puppeteer and his puppets): Singapore (where I’m in). In here, standard pornography is not allowed. I also doubt Visual Novels is allowed due to the restrictions here. Not to mention the freaking old, rusting, and rigid thinking of the population (thanks to the psychological brainwashing and instillment from Cradle-to-Grave “education” and Mass Media).

Things which I mentioned earlier: psychological brainwashing and instillment from Cradle-to-Grave “education” and Mass Media unfortunately is what pervades any nation. With such influence, peoples minds are being twisted into thinking things such as “lolis must be banned”, “glory to violence”, etc… It is something which we as individuals can’t change since these (brainwashing) is intended to benefit the power brokers and corporations (getting a bit off topic).

Back to topic at hand: If I have to really say anything, it would be best if you people still have the original in your physical media at home. Make copies on other media other then the one which is currently stored in.

Next, upload to multiple file hosting sites in which at least 2 is not revealed for redundancy purposes (in case the site or contents got removed).

Then prepare a new site and a mirror (in which the mirror is unrevealed) for your users to access. When ready, give notice for about 2 weeks to 1 month on existing site before closing completely (total removal of contents).

In the event the new site got compromised, redirect your users to the mirror and set up a new mirror (existing mirror becomes main). Again, give notice before closing the site. It will be a tedious process but it is required to ensure as minimal disclosure as possible.

Additionally, for mirror site which are not to be revealed, it is recommended to remove their existence from web crawlers. I do know there is a method for doing that but I just can’t remember off hand.

Sorry for the wall of text.

      • Ra
      • April 22nd, 2010

No, that’d be retarded. Google has age classification which hides pornographic pages by default (enable only) and they can put the page there…

Besides its not Google’s job to hide the most common exact search results because it could be offensive to someone. If I use the search engine, its because they DON’T do too much of this, but actually deliver relevant results.

Google isn’t that stupid, I bet. No, this is probably one of these concerns where they might think they need to consider possible impact on their image and international law and just suspended things for now.

I personally bumped into this website not too long ago. I read that a scanlation site had been banned through a few news blogs, but I had no idea that it was referring to this site. Right now, I think that anything relating to ‘drawn’ pornography in Japan is taking a turn for the worst, no doubt thanks to a certain news reporter, rights groups and countless numbers of people who head-on believe anything they’re told.

But when I turn back to the facts, I was one of those people. Many of us are probably one of those people. The media is just too powerful when it comes to feeding lies and reporting news when they have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. I’m probably still acting the same way to something else, but I’d have no idea about it until I see the facts, but chances are, I won’t. I hate to say this, but as the media and society goes, I don’t think things are going to get any better. Of course, if there’s someone here who can say otherwise to what I’ve already said, please go ahead. Maybe I’m just hell too pessimistic about everything.

Of course, I 100% support what you guys are doing. I know its a real kick in the balls with what’s happened already, but I wish you guys all the best.

I hate the fact that people actively look for causes to throw their lot in with based on what everyone else is doing. Notice that no one really cared about video game violence back in the day until some politician brought it up to make him look like he’s fighting “the good fight”?

Most of the desperate housewives of the world dont care one way or the other about this kind of stuff, but let a politician or a celebrity say they care about a cause? Then you’ve got every soccer mom on the block banning something without even researching it. They think they’re making a difference in the world and they tell their friends because they dont want to seem like all they’re about is American idol and watching survivor on thursdays.

Which brings me to our legal system. What good does it do to be judged by a jury of your peers if all your peers in the area are a bunch of bible thumping morons who think its illegal to do have sex even in the missionary position? You could prove you only downloaded the one “obscene” anime/manga and the jury would sentence you to 100 years for being a “child molester just waiting to hurt someone” or a “rapist who preys on women”.

It seems like loli/rape/yaoi/yuri/hentai/etc. manga is becoming more and more in the public eye. It used to be less readily available. Mark my words the more easy it gets and less of a taboo to like, the more people will be downloading it, seeing it, etc. and that means kids younger than 18 who live with their parents, and that means the opportunity for them to be caught. Soon as someone with high enough influence catches wind of this, they’ll try to do a crack down.

No real people are hurt in these stories, its fantasy, but people dont understand that. Ban this and whats next? First person shooters? Grand Theft Auto games? Water guns? Every movie R rated?

Come on this is just nuts!

These most likely religious based hate groups are formed by the previous generation who view all technology as a threat.

Shame that things have rolled how they will, but no one will take shit for this. I’ve seen another comrade go through this, and nothing really happened. He ended up jailed for something irrelevant, although being a pedophile probably didn’t help his case, it’s not entirely illegal to have the taste as long as you don’t act on it.

  5. Frankly, I don’t understand.

I ferociously dislike loli personally, and hard rape is barely better in my book.

But however, why the fook bother reporting you or e-hentai to the publishing companies, that’s way overboard :(

I may dislike loli as much as I do, I still reckon that these are only drawings. More precisely, that makes me sick to imagine people masturbating at the idea of fucking a little girl, I believe that during the climax, the fapper isn’t imagining he faps to a paper page. Gross. — but then again, it’s just drawings, shit !

When real pedos are concerned, I prefer to know they find loli porn drawings to satisfy their needs privately, rather than imagining them building up pressure more and more, until they go hunting out real girls on the streets.

    So, it sucks :(

I hope you LWB guys will not have any more problems, really !

Another remark, just in case wordpress may go against you, have you ever considered purchasing your own domain ?

    It’s an interesting thought:

When America first showed itself as the most progressive society, Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea reformed their own governments to realize for their people the benefits of freedom.

But as Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea branches off into their own areas of new and progressive understanding of our own human nature, it is the western countries whom are the bigots. Refusing to accept thoughts and ideas of other cultures, refusing to accept anything new.

While so many other countries are still far off, the bigotry that America alone has shown really makes me wonder if their moral/intellectual peak is long past.

Little White Firefly; Before you start the America bashing you would do well to remember that both Japan and South Korea exist because the U.S. invested heavily in their rebuilding. This is after Japan started a war with the U.S. and
South Korea escaped Communist rule because the U.S. fought to protect them. These Governments did not reform themselves, The U.S. did it for them, AT GREAT HUMAN SACRIFICE AND COST TO US! Hong Kong exists in its present form and success as a result of England. They did nothing on their own! Every bit of your statement is wrong and you need check yourself and stop disrespecting the country and people that has done so much good in this world before you make any more in the future.

Sadly, this bigotry that he speaks of is false. Come back to reality: even your country has moralf49s (and bigots for that matter).

It is clear in my mind that the majority of the leaders behind this moral crusade stem from USA. Britain and Australia have also shown many outspoken pressure groups.

If you are able to come up with a strong list of evidence that there are in-fact more of these pressure groups causing such widespread support for bigotry in Japan, HK, and South Korea, then I will gladly accept your view.

But Anon, while you are very correct about the debt many countries owes the US, such is not an excuse for trampling over your own progress towards freedom of speech and thought!

The US has enabled unprecedented progress in other countries. But yet when these countries come up with their own versions of progress, the masses of bigots speak out to destroy what was gained.

The US worked hard to give the freedom these countries have today. But instead, are now leading the charge to destroy what that freedom has reaped.

Also, I would like to politely inform you that both you and Anon’s replies seem discriminant of me as being some America basher from some outside country.

I hope you know that I am born from the west.

Reread my comments as me critiquing the culture I myself grew up in, and you should notice a profound difference in what you interpreted.

I have experience with these cultures, and if you go to Japan, HK, or South Korea for vacation, you will see many differences between the cultures that all nations could benefit from by understanding.

But sadly, what we are seeing instead is people picking up their pitchforks and torches to destroy what heresy the witches bring.

Maybe a parent has reported to google after a kid typed “butterflies” in the webbrowser to find something about butterflies for “homework” and stumbled at your site.

So a possible solution is to change name (to one that would not interest kids who e.g. search for information for homework: avoid words like butterflies, pony, horse etc. Or use “little white butterflies” in Japanese (romanization): Chīsana shiroi chō. And close this site and move to other blog sites (preferbly those which would warn about adult contents before entry).

    • Highly unlikely, given the fact that Fakku was involved. I bet my left testicle on the reporter being someone from Fakku.

  7. oh shit, there is another Oliver in the comments, I didn’t see -_-

    Hey, I’m THE Oliver, lol ^^;
J/K towards the other Oli, it’s not like I have a copyright :D

Reacting to TCM, that would be going overboard, maybe.
However, would Google reconsider, maybe, if you placed an intersticial warning, something like having to click OK on a “warning : adult material” before being able to view the website ?

    Not everyone using Google ;)
bind did not block this site yet..
And I dunno, personally I nerver googled to find a hentai site.. normally only finding pay sites with weird porn on it.. looking thourgh affliates is lots better.

  8. @ Anonymous using Bing,

Well, it’s a sad pity to give up on Google. In my case (I’m also a webmaster blogger), 8-10% of my daily traffic comes from Google…

I had to manually type in the address to get back here. I was kinda surprised (and angry) at the loss of the link in google since everything’s in my search link box. But it’s a good thing that the site’s still up and running, and don’t lose the fighting spirit. As long as bondage-related stuff is being translated, I’ll always be a supporter of this site. (Don’t dig lolis, but hey, that’s somebody else’s prerogative.)

On another note, you really got to hate them reporters… they the lives of so many people on free hentai-related sites.

I’m not into guro or too violent mangas, but I’ll be damned if I’m not gonna defend fiction. It’s just sad that you guys got into this just because it’s hardcore; I bet no one would give a damn if it was vanilla-porn.

I support you guys, since sensible logical people know that ink and paper don’t translate to CP and fiction and reality don’t effing mix.

I simply can’t understand people. If we were all wired to do whatever the media told us, we’d be going crazy killing people and punching the light out of the person next to us just for the hell of it.

As i stated before i’m not much into pron comics but i’m with the freedom of speech and i think google so the wrong choice. However in the end i don’t get the big deal, if someone is looking for some kind of specific comics they will use dedicated search engines like MU or others. Is hard that someone use google for this. At least is me, when i search for a genre of manga, like sports or comedy i use MU or other scanlations search engines bypassing google or other regular search engines.

  9. @ Nikki : as webmasters (I’m one too), you know, without FRESH traffic, new visitors, in the long term your blog will get less and less visitors.

It’s true having many visitors isn’t everything, but honestly, all the webmasters have a “Narcissus” side that’s stronger than the average, we love having more and more visitors, being able to share what we think or love with more and more people.

Cut google, you cut 10% of the daily traffic. It sucks, you’ll still “touch” those who know you already, but you won’t be able to “touch” anymore those who would have appreciated to get to know you.

    It sucks, and it’s unfair.

You know, if there’s one good thing about this, I would venture into stating that this fiasco may have actually increased your web traffic, ironic as it may seem.

freedom of speech or in this case reading is really taking some huge blows these days. South Park’s final speech got censored, e-hentai’s loli content got taken of and now this shit with you.

You’ve got my support and I always loved your translations. Keep up the good work man! And sad as it is, google won’t be used bye me anymore either. All these moral activists should give it a rest.

Ah… sad that this is happening. Support from Finland.

We in Europe aren’t too well off either with many countries (so far not including Finland) already having a lolicon ban, often directly compared to real CP instead of “obscenity act” targeting all sorts of sodomy. It’s like a friggin’ Victorian Period again!

EU is probably going to pass the following:

    COM (2009) 135, Proposal for a
    COUNCIL FRAMEWORK DECISION
on combating the sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography,
    repealing Framework Decision 2004/68/JHA,
    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meetdocs/2009_2014/documents/com/com_com(2009)0135_/com_com(2009)0135_en.pdf

What is worthy of noticing is the equation of fictional CP to factual CP with no distinction between the two. Read: spend 10 years in jail for drawing a naughty stickfigure comic or downloading Japanese manga scans.

It seems the Laws from the US indeed reached Europe as well, sadly. The freedom to make some kind of art is limited to what the law allows.
It would be hilarious if they cut down the penis from Belgium it’s trademark ‘manneke pies’. For those who don’t know what that statue is this is an image: (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b9/Manneken_Pis_2009.JPG)
And this is the Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manneken_Pis

I quess after that Belgium would loose that historical statue, hahaha!

All of you USA people got the laws from the types of politicians that you elected. You wanted non-liberal laws, so you got that. The next time a non-liberal gets control again, the laws will probably get even stricter against doujinshi. Or it will get regulated the same way that softcore porn publications are currently regulated.

If you elect officials that are religious or right-wing, then of course you got Bush and Ashcroft who made loli/shota/scat/extremefurry imaginary works illegal (thought crime). Originally, they wanted all hentai manga/doujins/anime to be regulated the same as live-action, but the Supreme Court didn’t go for that.
