i have to say i didnt know what to expect going into this book, "a collection of essays" can mean anything from "an amalgimation of crap i threw together that i wrote but with no congruent stream of thought" to "a masterfully put together series of writings from a bunch of people that i put together in a way you can understand without much effort"
bottled demon definitely falls smack dab into the ladder... if you are looking for a good read but dont quite know what you want to read about? buy this book... if you are looking for something that will challenge your view of the world and just about everything in it? buy this book... (hint: it wont change your view, but you should still buy it until you find something that will change your world view) if you are normally into picture books and cant comprehend difficult thought processes, buy this book, and give it to someone who can... this sirs and ladies is the ben afflec of books, buy it for any reason and read it and you will at least have read a book, love it or hate it you will have read it...

I'm a bit of a voracious reader, and I came across this title while idly bumbling through Amazon. Seemed different enough, so I gave it a shot. It's not perfect (I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could), but it's a fresh, thought-provoking read. Not all of the entries are created equal, but they all start off with an interesting premise, or carry a more mundane one to some interesting, entertaining places you may not have expected. If you want something more straightforward that you can absentmindedly breeze through, look elsewhere. But if you want something a bit different but nonetheless engrossing, Bottle Demon will do the trick.

Although this is a very short review, I do want to give this book 5 stars and say that the writer is incredibly talented. I also am fortunate enough to listen to his podcast and read his contributions elsewhere such as WOW Insider. He always has entertaining and well thought out contributions. His humor has often been a high spot in my day. I look forward to reading more of his work.
