Lindsay Lohan 'checks out of Betty Ford Center and into luxury Malibu rehab clinic'

After much resistance, Lindsay Lohan finally seemed to be settling into her stay at the Betty Ford Center.

But now the actress has switched facilities yet again as she continues her 90 day stint of court ordered rehab.

The Mean Girls star has checked out of the clinic and into the luxurious Cliffside centre in Malibu, according to reports.

TMZ claims that Lindsay is already settling into Cliffside, where she will carry out the rest of her treatment.

According to the website, the move has been approved by the judge, the prosecutors, and Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Holley, who she rehired after finally firing bumbling Mark Heller.

It was allegedly agreed that the 26-year-old should spend the remainder of her court ordered rehab at Cliffside as the Betty Ford Center is better suited to a 30 day program.

Lindsay checked into Betty Ford at the beginning of May, so has already carried out more than 30 days there.

It is believed that Lindsay made the switch from the Rancho Mirage facility to the luxury ocean side Malibu clinic on Wednesday.

The former child star was sentenced to the stint in the facility after pleading no contest to charges for lying to police about driving during a car crash last June.

The move comes shortly after it was reported that Lindsay had become a ‘model patient’ at Betty Ford, attending all her sessions and even taking on board what she’s learning.

Prior to that the fallen starlet had allegedly been begging to leave the centre, according to her loose lipped father Michael.

He had been pushing for a move for his famous daughter, but wanted her transferred to a Florida facility instead.

He previously said: ‘I want to take care of some things with the court and get her transferred. She's at Betty Ford, I think it's only going to be temporary with regard to recovery, but if she goes to the Lukens Institute in Florida, where I want her to go, it's going to be permanent and I'll stake everything on it. I know she'll get better if she goes there.

‘She'll repeat the same program three times in a row. It's a 12-step program, and at least at Lukens it's extended care and it's one-on-one. It's a very, very high level of treatment.’

It is not by any means the first time Lindsay has made a move between facilities.

Lohan was originally supposed to attend Seafield in New York, and then spent two minutes in the Morningside Recovery center in Newport Beach before firing Mark and rehiring Shawn Holley.

Holley brokered the deal for her to go the Betty Ford, where she had a fight with staff member Dawn Holland in 2010.

She may be getting treatment but Lindsay is still making plans for her next move after completing her stay.

According to E! she is already scheduled to attend the Venice Film Festival in Italy, which kicks off in August, where she will promote The Canyons.

Forget about 'rehab' for these people. I think a dose of living in the real world and staying for the same amount of time in a home with a family who have barely nothing but are happy and want for nothing would be a better treatment. The self-serving world she lives in will do nothing for her.

How is she allowed to do anything she wants? Don't the law courts and judges realise she's laughing in their faces? Why does no one with power seem to care about Lindsay Lohan's total disrespect for the law? It's crazy and they are happily enabling her self-destruction.

and the courts happily let the rich and famous make a mockery of the judicial system. more proof that money and fame can put you way above the law in the US. it's too bad for us regular ole people, having to abide by the law all the time.
