Busted! Brenda Song and former fiance Trace Cyrus appear to spend the night together in LA... after breaking up last year

Keeping low profiles as they strolled to their local 7 Eleven in LA at 1'o'clock in the morning, Brenda Song and ex Trace Cyrus certainly looked as if they had something to hide.

The former couple, who broke off their engagement in summer last year, were seen renting a movie and carrying some essential items that they had just bought before going home together in the early hours.

And if they were trying to go unnoticed, their plan was foiled when they were pictured again the very next day at the restaurant Sushi Dan in LA.

The couple broke up in summer last year, when the 23-year-old musician told JustJared: 'Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways.

'We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers.

'I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future. I hope everyone can respect our privacy about this situation.'

However, on Tuesday it seemed to be a different story.

Both Brenda and Trace were acting extremely sheepish together as they went for a midnight snack, and then were spotted out early the next day.

They also had appeared to have had a change of clothing overnight.

The pair began dating in May 2010 and in August 2011 it was rumored that Brenda was pregnant, though the news was never confirmed.

The the five-foot-two starlet has recently been hitting the gym and has seemed slimmer lately.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star was seen chatting to a friend alongside Trace as they went for lunch.

Interestingly, she tweeted on Friday: 'Sometimes good things fall apart, so that better things can fall together..'

Then added: 'Don't give up on someone you can't go a full day without thinking about..'

However, there is still no news on whether Trace's sister Miley will be able to reignite her romance with actor Liam Hemsworth.

Neither Liam nor Miley have confirmed or denied reports that they've split, despite several sources saying they have.

His dad was a real looker when he was younger even with the mullet. ( I hate mullets & tats). But he & his sister seem to have inherited their mothers looks.

Trace is a great guy, he shares her traditional views of faith and family, regardless of the tattoos, and is super close to his family. I hope they make it this time.
