A tale of two Katies! Holmes looks flawless in stunning new Bobbi Brown advert... as she goes make-up free for riverside stroll

With smoky eyes, strong brows and a dusky pink lip, Katie Holmes looks flawless in her latest advert for Bobbi Brown.

But Katie also has a stunning natural complexion as she walked alongside the Hudson River in New York on Wednesday.

The Bobbi Brown campaign shot shows Katie, 34, staring sexily into the camera with her hand behind her head as her brunette hair is swept back into a chignon to further highlight her features.

She wears a blue halter dress to fit in with the brand's new Navy & Nude Collection and finished off her look with a pair of delicate hoop earrings.

Brown has told People that she wanted to give her first every celebrity ambassador an easy to create evening look to advertise her latest collection:

‘I wanted to give Katie a nighttime look that she would feel confident wearing and that still represents her own style.’

Bobbi Brown announced Katie as their celebrity face in September last year. This Spring has marked the launch of the actress’ collaboration with the brand, with the star revealing her excitement at her new venture last year:

‘Bobbi is exceptionally talented and Bobbi Brown cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty,’ Holmes said.

‘Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.’

Whilst Katie is looking preened and polished in her latest campaign shot, it seems she’s not exactly been taking tips from Bobbi in her personal life.

The actress was pictured looking deep in thought as she pounded the pavements in New York on Wednesday. Walking by the city’s Hudson River Katie looked like she’d put her casual look together in a hurry.

Her scruffy pale blue jeans and spotted top are a far cry from the glam silk halter from her Bobbi Brown snap whilst the star’s chic chignon was replaced with a makeshift up-do.

Proving that she’s confident in her skin, Katie went make-up free for her stroll, showing off that flawless skin that no doubt helped win her the Bobbi Brown campaign.

It's been revealed that the busy working mum is focusing on her career and seven-year-old daughter Suri, with an insider insisting recently that Tom Cruise’s ex has no time for love since splitting from the Mission Impossible star over a year ago.

Despite recent reports linking her to her latest co-star Luke Kirby, an insider who has worked with the actress has told People: 'She’s lying low on the romantic side of things. She doesn’t need that right now. Her focus is on Suri,'

'I don’t think she’s ready...Once she left Tom, she got right back on track. Her attitude was "Okay, fine, let's get back to work." Things have been tough for her, but she's happy. She's moving on.'

The actress is keeping busy shooting her new film Mania Days in New York with co-star Kirby but according to the inside source, Katie has been frustrated by the lack of major opportunities in her work life.

The former Dawson’s Creek star suffered a blow at the beginning of the year when her Broadway play Dead Accounts closed after just two months.

'It’s been hard for her to find a job,' said a Hollywood insider close to Holmes. 'She hasn’t worked much, and it's not by choice.'

True confidence comes from not feeling pressured to conform to everyone's expectations of how you are "supposed" to look if you're a celebrity. It takes personal strength to allow yourself to just "be" and not care who judges you.

Shame on Bobbi Brown. Putting up Katie Holmes who always looks like a wreck unless she's professionally done is an insult. Won't buy from this company again. - TJ , Los Angeles, United States, 21/6/2013 08:44...................... let's just for a second assume you are correct about Katie Holmes always looking like a wreck as then Bobbi Brown actually are using this to their advantage. Think about it for just a minute, if you're able?. Their make-up turns a wreck into someone stunning. Why would you not want to use their make-up then? Using a wreck and turning them into a swan with their make-up is not at all insulting but the opposite. But seriously, I don't think you are correct, I think you are actually quite immature and have lots to learn. And also, Katie doesn't look like a wreck, she just looks like a normal person going on about their business.

I admire Katie . She comes across to me as a strong , independent thinking woman , who is focused on the important things in life and I respect that .I use Bobbi Brown products and I am happy to see Katie representing this brand . Yes the picture is airbrushed , but all of them are . I cannot recall the last time I saw any advert that was not airbrushed and / or photoshopped . I am proud of Katie that she has not succumbed to plastic surgery on her face like 99 % of celebrities today . Even the young ones in their early 20's are having these proceedures done , because in the acting industry your career literally depends on how you look . Kudos to Katie , I am sure she has enough money to do her eyes and fluff her cheeks and lips to look like a hollywood clone , but has chosen instead to be herself - that is beautiful in my opinion .

I have never seen a photo so doctored they have made her look like a brunette Cam Diaz which is like making Hello Kitty look like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It's a FARCE and just makes the brand look FALSE .In my opinion she is the least deserving of the movie females
