They've had a famously troubled relationship.

And it seems Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers may finally be ending things for good.

The 51-year-old reality star wrote on her blog on Wednesday that her 'heart is guarded' after the 46-year-old businessman lashed out at her over Twitter earlier that day.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star took to her Bravo blog to respond to her fans, who were outraged at fresh allegations that Brooks had been dating a 'stripper/porn star' behind Vicki's back.

'I know a lot of you have voiced your opinion on Brooks and although I appreciate your opinion, keep in mind I am a smart woman and I know him more (other than his family) than most of you,' Vicki wrote.

'I don’t read the comments people post on the blogs because I have seen the level of anger and meanness there.'

Vicki continued, 'I have learned a lot about relationships in my lifetime and what I do know is my checkbook is guarded, my heart is guarded, my mind is guarded and it’s going to be a very long time before I am walking down that aisle again (if ever).'

Vicki's blog post was in reponse to two tweets sent by Brooks earlier on Wednesday accusing his girlfriend of 'betraying' their relationship.

'@vgunvalson My heart is very heavy because of you. The world doesn’t revolve around you alone, especially when you’re in a relationship,' Brooks tweeted at Vicki.

'@vgunvalson I should’ve known that you’d betray us for you. I did the opposite,' he added.

The pair, who allegedly met in 2012 through Vicki's insurance business, have had a rocky relationship.

Along with the rumours of Brooks' infidelity, the couple are also being sued for allegedly conning a business partner out of $250,000.

Professional poker player Robert Williamson III has claimed the reality star breached contract, committed fraud, failed to live up to good faith dealings, misrepresented herself and conspired to unjustly enrich herself and partner Ayers with regards to a failed Vodka business.

Vicki was served the legal papers while in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
