Kevin Conrad, hero of Bali, wants rule changes at Copenhagen -- goooooo Kevin!!!

Dear Readers,

Predictably, Andy Revkin offers a rehash of the stolen e-mails non-story (except for who dunnit? which he never mentions) while "covering" the Copenhagen conference as the "journalist" for the New York Times; however, we do get to hear of the Hero of Bali, Kevin Conrad, who would like rules changed so that the final vote need not be 100%:

Kevin Conrad, a representative of Papua New Guinea known for admonishing the United States for slowing things down at negotiations in Bali in 2007, interrupted what was supposed to be a procedural nicety, the reading of the rules.

He said he disagreed with the rules and wanted to make a change. Ms. Hedegaard encouraged Mr. Conrad to delay consideration of the issue. But he doggedly pressed his buzzer again, asking her when, precisely, she would hear him out.

Ms. Hedegaard finally yielded. Later this week, she said.

"And there is an old saying, 'If you are not willing to lead, then get out of the way.' And, I would ask the United States: We ask for your leadership. We seek your leadership. But, if for some reason you are not willing to lead, leave it to the rest of us. Please get out of the way." (Bali, 2007)
