She regularly struts down the catwalk in a menagerie of high fashion designer ensembles

But model Karlie Kloss looked a great deal more low key on Wednesday, as she stepped out in New York City sporting a dark red vest top, jeans and black ballet pumps.

The 20-year-old star still looked stunning, with the slim fitting jeans showing off her endlessly long legs to the maximum as she tried to hail a taxi.

The star showed she is a high end shopper, toting an oversized Gucci bag, and another bag which appeared to contain a healthy green juice.

Karlie recently revealed details of her healthy eating regime which included her preference for a late breakfast - her favourite meal of the day.

'If I'm sleeping in my own bed in New York, I love to make just really yummy, clean, boring protein shakes with chocolate protein powder, almond milk, and banana or blackberries,' she told Bonappetit.com.

'On days I don't have to work, I like to sleep in,' she added. 'I like to make a shake, go to the gym, then have breakfast around 2 - I'm all about breakfast, it's my favourite meal of the day. Mainly because there's so many yummy sweet options like cereals, yoghurt, pancakes, and crepes.

'Egg whites are also a staple for me - they're a great source of protein and I can always have them no matter where in the world I'm working. I love my egg whites swimming in Cholula hot sauce or ketchup.'

Karlie also advises drinking plenty of water, a balanced diet and sticking to a fitness regime.

Look at her first picture. She has very defined lats, delts, and pecs. Clearly this girl puts in time in the gym. She's just one of those tall girls that are very thin. She is, after all, 6 foot 1 inch tall. And sure, she doesn't eat as much as the every day glutton. But she probably never did, or else how did she get that job? I dated a 6 foot 1 inch NCAA swimmer (many years ago). She was also thin and well muscled. I saw her last summer (20 years later). She still has the same body, with just a couple lines on the face for character. It's all about genetics. She's naturally skinny and food is not all that important to her. She looks staggeringly beautiful to me. Fit is the new thin.

I wonder, does this writer "bat for the other side" ? She seems to have a fetish for endless legs, mile long legs, long slim legs, and never ending legs, dancer's bodies, and floaty etherealness. Or is she just a suck-up name-dropper?
