That'll get her redneckognized! Honey Boo Boo debuts cornrows and curls at book signing... but would rather go shopping

As the breakout beauty queen of Toddlers and Tiaras, there's no doubt that Alana Thompson - a.k.a Honey Boo Boo - is now a fully fledged star in her own right.

And if having A-list fans such as Johnny Depp wasn't enough, the youngster proved her star power on Thursday as she attended her very own book signing in McLean, North Virginia.

Looking every inch the mini superstar, Alana matched her trademark curls with a cool set of cornrows, diamante studded cowboy boots, jean shorts and a bright blue and pink vest top - which appeared to be doughnut-patterned.

Other members of her Georgia-based family were also in attendance offering up their autographs, although no-one seemed to quite captivate the crowds as well as Alana.

At one stage, Alana sat on the table with her back against her family members, that include June 'Mama' Shannon, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon, Anna 'Chickadee' Shannon, and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon.

June's husband Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson was also on hand at the signing.

7-year-old Alana took center stage at Tysons Corner Mall to promote the new book, How to Honey Boo Boo: The Complete Guide on How to Redneckognize the Honey Boo Boo in You.

Of course, Alana didn't actually write the book herself, although it has been inspired by irreducible pearls of wisdom from the young star, such as: 'It's called a biscuit because it looks like a biscuit.'

The authorized guide to the show apparently tells you all need to know to enjoy the doings and sayings of Honey Boo Boo and her lovably redneck rural Georgia family.

However, it didn't seem to keep Alana's attention for long.

After a quick outfit change the bold youngster headed straight out of the book shop in need of some retail therapy and was seen checking out the latest Windows android phone.

Mama June appeared to be as equally entertained by the phone as she played around on a test model in the shop.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo returns for a second season on Wednesday, and while outside of the show Alana's star has risen, an early clip has shown her family are still very much down to earth.

In the first episode the family are seen messing around together as they prepare to visit a local wrestling event where father Sugar Bear has been working.

'Being backstage is awesome 'cause I can show off all my butt-kicking moves,' Alana says before demonstrating her skills for the professional wrestlers.

'Y'all can use it in the match to knock out people,' she added.

Meanwhile, TLC will be kicking off the new season with what they're calling a 'scentsational Watch 'n Sniff event' in the premiere episode.

The television show have made scratch-and-sniff cards, which are available at select Time Warner Cable stores, and in People and Us Weekly magazines.

However, the cards - which have certain scents to go with certain scenes on the show - may not be so appealing judging by the trailer for the new series.

There are many comments from people who have not seen the show. She was in a child beauty contest when Toddlers and Tiaras was filming and stole the show so the network did a show about her whole family. They are very nice people and the show is hilarious. June has put all the children's money in trust funds for them and they refuse to leave their home by the railroad tracks or change their standard of living. They still live on the money that Sugar Bear earns. The whole theme of the show is that you can be poor, have made mistakes and be in a demographic that the world seems to hate, yet love and happiness is still well within your reach. It is a happy little show. Alana has put on a great deal of weight and I wish her luck with that. I like this family!

The fact that this family has a television show and the daughter who is referred to as "Honey Boo Boo" has a book deal just shows where this country is going. No wonder every other country hates us.

If you starved your child it would be classed as abuse and social services would be involved....Why it is that you can stuff your child's face until they are morbidly obese and get away with not being charged with abuse? because that is exactly what this is........
