Finally ready to nest? Kanye West takes a break from baby North to go furniture shopping

He seemed rather distracted in the run up to the birth of his baby daughter.

But after spending Kim Kardashian's pregnancy gallivanting around Europe, it seems fatherhood has belatedly sparked the nesting instinct in Kanye West.

The rapper was spotted visiting upmarket furniture stores in Los Angeles on Thursday, indicating he may finally be looking at preparing a home for little North.

The newborn and her mother are currently holed up at Kris Jenner's home in Calabasas.

But while they are comfortably ensconced, the family do not yet have a home to call their own.

This is despite Kanye and Kim buying their first home together back in January - a luxury $11million mansion in Bel Air.

The two planned to renovate the property together, but with Kanye absent seemed to get little done before the birth.

Just this week designer Jean Touitou admitted that it took two years to create just three items in his recent collaboration with the star.

'If I made this happen, then I can achieve peace in the Middle East,' he joked.

So it as well that exacting Kanye appears to be getting to work on his home.

As he shopped in Los Angeles the 36-year-old was typically low key, in jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

It has been a busy few weeks for Kanye.

Not only has he become a father for the first time, but he released his sixth studio album Yeezus last month.

It received wide critical acclaim and became his sixth consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard charts.

Isn't Kanye a little old to be wearing jeans that don't fit properly. I worry that his daughter will be scared of his bulldog looks.

I wouldn't let him advise me on how to dress (like Kim does) let alone furnish my home. He is tasteless! Every time I see a photo of him I wonder why Kim is with him. I think Kim is insecure, unable to make her own decisions and is childlike in some ways which can be heard when she talks. She has a childlike voice. It was her mother directing her & now it's him. I don't think she thought it through when she got pregnant by him. He needs a good cleaning inside and out. After Kim's recovered from her plastic surgery, Botox & body reassignment surgery the parade will begin anew!
