Anthony Weiner's wife joined him on the campaign trail for the first time on Sunday wearing the exact same dress that Michelle Obama wore in the first couple's most iconic photo of all time.

Huma Abedin donned the red-and-white checkered frock during campaign stops in Staten Island and Harlem, where she attended two church services, swung through a couple restaurants, shook hands and posed for photos.

The sleeveless, A-line dress is the very same one that Michelle Obama was wearing in the now-famous photo that the president's campaign shared on the night of his second White House victory under the caption 'Four more years.'

The image, in which the first couple is embracing during a campaign stop in Iowa, went on to become the most shared photo of all time. Buzzfeed reporter Ruby Cramer first noted the coincidence in Abedin's choice of wardrobe. (The dress cost $93 and is designed by the British brand ASOS.)

Abedin, 34, isn't sure yet how often she'll be joining her husband on the trail, she told the New York Daily News.

She appeared in Weiner's first campaign video and held a private fundraiser for him, but Sunday was her first time mingling with voters in public.

'I’m a mom, I’ve got my own life and my own profession . . . and I have my husband, who is doing something I want to be supportive of,' she said. 'I think that’s a pretty normal thing that a lot of women find they have to figure out.'

She later told reporters that she was enjoying seeing her husband hard at work.

'I am having so much fun,' she said, according to The New York Observer. 'It’s just wonderful to see the response that people have to Anthony. And he’s working hard. And it seems to really be … people seem to be noticing.'

Abedin's presence on the campaign trail is expected to help Weiner, 48, to overcome his disgraceful exit from the U.S. House of Representatives in 2011. Weiner was forced to resign after he admitted to sending semi-nude pictures of himself to several women, including a 21-year-old student and a porn star.

He at first denied the behavior and claimed his Twitter account had been hacked - but he later came clean at a tearful press conference.

Abedin has been a longtime aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She and Weiner have a one-year-old son together. She was pregnant with their son when Weiner's illicit behavior was revealed.

We notice less about politics and more about the personal. How about focusing on his politics and challenge him where it matters? I could care less if she wore a diamond encrusted underwear.

Can't keep away from the taxpayers trough these two Weiner should just go away and try to make a living for his family in the private sector.., but them perhaps nobody wants him

Obviously the wife has the same political aspirations, which is probably what this marriage has been about the whole time. NY can find someone else that's better suited for the position.
