There are definite perks to having a Hollywood star parent, but for Alyssa Milano's son, Milo, it's the little things that impress him.

Forget designer clothes, A-list play dates and all the toys money can buy, this little boy just wants to snuggle up to his mother as they enjoy a train ride together.

Hitting up the farmers' market in LA on Sunday, the Mistresses star and her Creative Artists Agency agent husband, David Bugliari, made sure that fun was a priority.

Jumping aboard the cute red and blue train for a spin around the parking lot, Milo, who turns two next month, and his mother were just like any other family enjoying a day out.

Alyssa opened up to People magazine last week about her amazement at seeing her little boy growing up right before her eyes.

Taking him along with her as she relocated to New York to host Project Runway All Stars last month, she commented on his progress over the seven-week period.

'I brought a baby and I’m going home with a little boy. It’s so crazy! He’s gotten so big,' she said, adding, 'I’m blessed to have the kind of job that he can be with me every day. But it’s still freaking exhausting!'

The 40-year-old was no doubt eager to spend some quality time with her leading men after heading to San Diego on Friday for the annual Comic-Con convention.

The star was there to promote her foray into comic books, with the actress having teamed up with writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly to create graphic novel Hacktivist.

Dubbed a 'fast-passed cyber-thriller', the plot follows Silicon Valley wunderkinds Ed Hiccox and Nate Graft, who lead double lives as computer hackers.

'I’m very involved with global activism and philanthropy. I like the idea of everyday people doing good,' says Alyssa, who has revealed the concept came from the secret life she likes to believe Twitter and Square creator Jack Dorsey lives.

'I picture him leaving the office at night and going home, where he locks himself in his room and starts hacking to change the world.'

While this might seem like an odd career move for the former child star to pursue, she explains: 'Doing a graphic novel allowed me to dream big and it gave me the freedom to create without boundaries.'

But fans needn't worry that this means the star is putting her acting career on the backburner.

The actress is currently starring as Savannah 'Savi' Davis in new drama Mistresses, and network ABC has reportedly extended their options on the core cast as they wait to decide whether the show will be renewed for a second season.
