Use Policy

The Pew Forum is a nonpartisan, nonadvocacy organization and does not take positions or endorse people, products, businesses or viewpoints on any particular issue. Therefore, it is imperative that reprints, links and citations not give the impression that inclusion of a Pew Forum resource means that the Pew Forum is endorsing the publication or viewpoint.

Reprint Guidelines

The Pew Forum offers its content for reprint in print or online at no cost.

If you are interested in reprinting or translating a report in its entirety or a graphic or table from a Pew Forum report, please email permissions@pewforum.org with the name and URL of the Pew Forum publication or graphic you want to use. Please also provide the name and a brief description of the publication or website where it will appear. Your request will be answered as quickly as possible, and permission and copyright information will be provided.

Citation Guidelines

The Pew Forum does not require special permission if you are planning to cite a short excerpt from a report, reference a piece of data or use Pew Forum data to create your own chart or table; permission is only required when you reprint any of our content in its entirety. Please attribute the excerpts or data to the Pew Forum by including a citation with the report title, organization’s full name (Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life), report release date and URL. A sample citation is below:

Global Restrictions on Religion, Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life, December 2009. http://pewforum.org/Government/Global-Restrictions-on-Religion.aspx.

If your intended use falls somewhere in between a short excerpt and reprinting content in its entirety, please email permissions@pewforum.org  with the details of your request.
