    FIFA president visits big three of Kolkata maidan

    Kolkata, April 16 (PTI): FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter yesterday saluted the Maidan -- the hub of sports in the city -- visiting the three big clubs besides garlanding the statue of legendary footballer Gosto Pal.

    Having arrived in the metropolis last night to a tumultuous welcome, Blatter began his tour this morning going round Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting.

    The FIFA president got a taste of the huge fan following of these clubs as hundreds of soccer lovers almost mobbed him throughout his 75-minute trip in the Maidan.
