Five videos now, all spectacular. They have been accused of being fake?!!!  Motive and cost of production with too many actors and in too many locations, makes this unlikely!

I am still calling this event REAL in spite of the skeptics.

Very Strange!  This asteroid event was near the size of the Chelyabinsk, Russian event and yet I cannot get any news from Mexico Media or help from Mexican astronomers???  Four independent videos documented the event yet I cannot get help to obtain the ORIGINAL videos?  Please other country scientists and researchers help with this study.

Last night at approximately 2:27 AM CDT (2013 August 28 07:2721 UTC), all 6 NASA allsky cameras in the SouthEast picked up a very bright fireball (peak magnitude ~ -11, 2 magnitudes brighter than the Last Quarter Moon) that MAY have produced meteorites. The cameras were completely saturated, necessitating a manual solution. This may very well be the brightest event our network has observed in 5 years of operation.
Using two stations, we have derived the following crude parameters:

Start location: 84.943 W, 34.969 N at an altitude of 97.4 km
Last location: 84.578 W, 35.206 N at an altitude of 37.9 km (this is NOT the lowest point; other stations show it continuing)
Speed: 23.7 km/s
Peak brightness: -10.9
Mass: ~45 kg (roughly 0.3 to 0.4 meters in diameter)
Radiant: RA - 336 +/- 2 deg, Dec +9.8 +/- 4 deg

"Hi all,

I am currently attending the Meteoroids conference in Poland. At the
meeting, Prof. Peter Brown has just alerted us to the fact that the Daytime
Craterids (DCR) have unexpectedly shown up in the Canadian Meteor Orbit
Radar (CMOR). You can see the radar detection for yourself at:

The same shower has previously shown outbursts in 2003 and 2008. A recent
paper by Wiegert et al. discussing those events is available here:

If the previous outbursts are anything to go by, the shower might last for
several days and increase in activity. Whether this might produce meteors
at visible wavelengths is essentially unknown, but amateur astronomers at

earth-grazing meteors near sunset.

We were taxing the train on the road and then reviewing what we tax saw a light in the sky. Not hear anything but it seems a UFO or even as a military weapon. This was today at 5pm between Charcas and Mat.

We recorded this on Wednesday on a walk through the desert near the hill of La Ventana. I see that there is another video on YouTube about the same phenomenon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeZ0xS ...). I'm no expert but I think it's a meteor and must have fallen about. Asking the locals walking around I noticed they did not want to talk about it and they said they had not seen anything but it's hard not to have seen anything. Something weird out there in the desert.

Grabamos esto el miércoles en una caminata por el desierto cerca del cerro de La Ventana. Veo que existe otro videos en YouTube sobre el mismo fenómeno (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeZ0xS...). No soy experto pero creo que es un meteoro y debió de haber caído cerca. Preguntándoles a la poca gente local por ahí noté que no querían hablar del tema y me dijeron que no habían visto nada pero está difícil que no hubieran visto nada. Algo raro hay por ahí en el desert.
