Lemmy at Wacken 2013

With Lemmy Kilmister on the mend following his recent health scare, fans were looking forward to Motörhead’s show at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany today. However, it appears that Lemmy’s condition still may not be at 100%, as the band cut their festival set short.

Motörhead reportedly spent less than 30 minutes onstage (45 minutes less than scheduled) at the Wacken Open Air festival today, with awkward long pauses in-between the six songs they played. According to people in attendance, Lemmy did not look or sound well and struggled to gather strength to perform. Guitarist Phil Campbell even played a guitar solo earlier than usual to cover for the frontman, which upon its conclusion was met with “eerie silence.” After they played their final song, co-founder Thomas Jensen came out and announced to the audience that the concert was over, supposedly admitting that even he didn’t know what to do or say about the situation.

Needless to say, this is pretty worrisome to hear. Whether or not this means Lemmy returned to the stage too soon, we simply hope he gets better and takes a little more time to rest up.
