Highway Construction has successfully completed reconstruction works on Derby Highway and Great Northern Highway in the remote Kimberley region of WA. The works were undertaken simultaneously on the two separate sections of road. The Great Northern Highway (Colourstone) section comprised 13.7km of widening and pavement overlay, and the Derby Highway works involved 4.7km of widening and overlay. Included in the project was the reconstruction of two intersections, the construction of an off road parking bay, and ancillary works including the construction/installation of driveways, signs, guide posts and pavement marking.
Ancillary drainage works involved the construction/installation of reinforced concrete box and pipe culverts, surface drains, and floodways.
- Conducting the construction works on each section concurrently using separate project teams to complete the works in shorter time frame.
