She’s a Bollywood super star but on Wednesday Priyanka Chopra proved she can also stop traffic on the other side of the world.

The former Miss World was spotted shooting a commercial on the streets of Manhattan.

The stunning 30-year-old soon drew a huge crowd with her on camera antics, as locals stopped to snap pictures of the beauty queen.

Priyanka hit the Big Apple to shoot an ad for Indian whiskey Blender’s Pride and their annual Fashion Tour, with the energetic commercial seeing the model strut her stuff.

The star looked gorgeous in a miniscule black dress which featured a draped neckline and very high hemline, showing off her long toned legs.

Priyanka paired her beaded detail frock with a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and an over-sized black coat which featured bracelet length sleeves.

Adding some colour to her all black ensemble, the Bollywood star was given a stunning gold and green statement necklace to wear along with some huge bejewelled earrings.

Priyanka proved she’s a pro as she negotiated some cobbled streets in her lace up heels and even showed off a dance move or two.

A crowd of onlookers was spotted taking in the action as the cameras rolled, with many fans stopping to take photos of the Indian beauty.

At one point it seemed Priyanka had even attracted the attentions of one of New York’s finest, as a policeman stopped for a chat.

Priyanka is working hard on her worldwide career, with the star releasing her second single Exotic, featuring Pitbull, last month.

Exotic debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs in the States and hit number on eon iTunes India.

Joining forces with notorious rapper Pitbull seems like an odd move for the former Miss World, but the 30-year-old from Jamshedpur, India, has long aspired to become a professional singer.

She claims her biggest vocal influence was her father and she soon incorporated singing as part of her pageant act.

After being crowned Miss World in 2000, Chopra went on to sign a recording deal with Universal Music Group through DesiHits, and met with manager Troy Carter, CEO of Atom Factory (which also manages Lady Gaga).

In July 2012, Chopra became the first Bollywood actress to be signed by Creative Artists Agency.

While she is not well known in America, Chopra is one of Bollywood's biggest stars and has carved a reputation for playing diverse and unconventional roles.

Much like Kim Kardashian, she was declared queen of brand endorsements in India, representing Pepsi, Nokia, Garnier and Nestlé.

Indian actors are not the same as Hollywood actors.....they still live at home with their parents and carry on a very normal traditional life in India. Priyanka is no different, recently her father passed and she was completely crushed and could not leave her mother and family's side. Her dad was a MD but because of her professional commitments she has to press on. I know she is hurting inside because she was very close to her dad.

Reply to the comment made by doenen, from Malaysia : what has this topic about Priyanka Chopra doing advert got to do with caste system? Since you've brought this topic up, let's discuss it then. Caste or class exist every where, only that the westerners make it sound better, eg, upper, middle and lower. If you think you're of lower caste or class, go ahead and sink deeper into it and stay there. Everyone should bloody get on with their life and try to better oneself.
