'It's obvious she settled for him': Desiree Hartsock's brother pulls no punches as he weighs in on Bachelorette's engagement

Bachelorette fans were left with raised eyebrows when Desiree Hartsock accepted a marriage proposal just days after declaring another suitor was ‘the only one’ she loved.

And now the bridal stylist’s brother is declaring what many already believe – that she said ‘yes’ to Chris Siegfried because she wanted to wed one way or another.

Nate famously ruffled feathers when his sister appeared on The Bachelor, and was believed to be the driving force behind Sean Lowe sending her packing.

And Desiree’s brother is at it once again with his latest claims that the reality star ‘settled’.

'Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids,' Nate told Life & Style magazine. 'Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice.'

However that’s not to say that Nate doesn’t believe Des and Chris will make it down the aisle, as he revealed he in fact thinks they will be exchanging vows sooner rather than later.

Nate said: ‘She is happy with him and with how it ended up. I think this will be a short engagement, I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer.’

He added candidly: ‘I think it’s obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she’s “all in” with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her.’

Viewers expected Desiree to reject both finalists, Chris and Drew Kenney, after she was spectacularly dumped by her favourite Brooks Forester.

But the pretty brunette made a quick recovery in time to accept Chris’ romantic proposal in Antigua.

And Desiree revealed in the live show after the finale that she believes she had to 'go through heartbreak in order to see the beauty and love'.

The former Bachelorette has now relocated to Seattle to live with her husband to be, who is a mortgage broker.

But their nuptials aren’t the only thing the happy couple are working on together as Chris is also set to release a poetic memoir titled Diamonds + Hearts, which will feature additional poems from Desiree.

Meanwhile Desiree paid tribute to former Bachelor contestant Gia Allemand on Wednesday after she tragically died aged 29 after committing suicide.

‘So incredibly sad to hear the news,’ Desiree tweeted. ‘Love and prayers go out to Gia's family and friends.’

I agree with her brother! She went from being madly in love with one guy, only to do a complete 180 for another without blinking her eyes. She totally settled, but whatever, it's her life.
