Interpet Water Filter - PF Mini - 200 Litres Per Hour/44 Gal/hr

ideal for small fish tanks super quiet great product highly recommend my tank is only 10lts and works an absolute treat. i did also need filter aid though for super crystal clear water.

Fitted this into a 60 litre tank. Keeps the water crystal clear and is really easy to clean. Not very noisy at all and stays put with the suction pads. You can adjust the flow rate which is quite handy too.

Purchased for my daughters use to replace one supplied with tank & item works well. One pointer though - dont clean filter with clean water as this ruins the filtering [READ the instructions carefully]

I use to have to clean the tank every couple of weeks but i've had this filter in for 3 weeks and it is still crystal clear.

Sits underwater so not too noisy and simple and easy to clean

I've tried many filters to try and keep my 30 litre tank clean and all of the �20-�30 ones did nothing. I spotted this in my recommended items and thought what's to loose. Got it home and found it was smaller than I had imagined but it packs a big punch. It rarely needs cleaning and as it came with a water polisher it keeps my water crystal clear. I couldn't see myself using a different filter. 5 stars from me all around.

The filter i received with my 25L tank was just not up to the job so i needed a replacement. After checking out reviews and Interpet's reputation i settled on this smart small filter. It came with two white foams a carbon foam and flow deflector. Also a free fine filter pad sample. Set up is simple, just attache the bracket with suckers to side of tank, check filters are in place, attache filter body to the impeller cover, attache flow deflector and it just slides in place. I replaced one of my white foams with my foam from my previous filter to keep the bacteria in the system ( i took this out after one week and put in the other white foam)and i used half of the fine filter sample. The difference is amazing, my water is so clean compared to before. Mine is set so it ripples the surface but you can adjust this with the flow deflector and the height of the filter in tank. It does have a minimum depth line on the side though. The mini does not have the venturi switch like the other Interpet filters in this range.

I did not buy my filter from Amazon but felt that there are a couple of reviews on this site that are putting the product down for the wrong reasons. Firstly the carbon filters, Carbon filters are designed to be changed every three to six weeks. They filter out impurities and unwanted chemicals from the water. After this time if you do not replace the carbon they can be left in and used as a normal filter sponge. It is not advisable to have carbon filters in place for long periods of time anyhow unless there is a reason for them being there.

Secondly Aeration, The venturi, which is a device on top of the filter to diffuse air into the aquarium will not work if the pump is fully submerged (as stated in the instructions). The filter needs to take air in from somewhere in order to push it into the tank. Therefore leave the top of the filter the light blue part partly above the water level and open up the valve by pushing it and it will do a good job of adding air into the water.

People should really read their instruction manuals before leaving poor reviews. Also fishkeeping is a hobby that requires a certain level of knowledge about the fish and equipment before buying anything.

Personally I believe for the money this product does what it should and if cleaned regularly (in old tank water, of course) will help the fish in your tank live a much healthier life.

We already had this pump and unfortunately dropped and smashed it whilst cleaning out the fish tank. So this one was bought as a replacement. It's very good and it came very quickly from Amazon.

Bit noisy... I don't have it seated fully in the side clip and it is quieter. Does a great job, make sure you position it as the instructions suggest to avoid creating too strong a current.

Fab filter otherwise, doesn't need new sponges often.

Great filter, really quiet once set up correctly. It's a bit of a pain changing the filters over every few weeks but no issue doing so. Fish seem happy with it as well.
