More Minecraft Xbox 360 update 12 details - trial versions of texture packs confirmed

Update is now in bug-fixing, should release soon

Sun gotta come up, rain gotta come down, Microsoft gotta back-peddle on key policy initiatives, and 4J gotta make Minecraft Xbox 360 updates. The latest - which is now being bug-fixed, and thus isn't worlds away from release - could be the most feature-rich yet. It'll add Iron Golems, Wither heads, cats and support for Mash-Up packs, which completely reskin the world with themed textures.

4J has now confirmed that you'll be able to download a trial version of each Mash-Up pack, with no time restriction on its use - you just won't be able to save till you buy it. This is so that people joining your game can do so without forking out for a Mash-Up pack of their own - all they need is the trial.

Alas, we've no pictures of all this yet, so you'll have to make do with a shot of some cats for the moment. Cats, everybody.

In case you missed it, Minecraft Xbox 360 Skin Pack 5 is now available to buy on the Marketplace. It costs 160 MP, and features Dead Space skins, Walking Dead skins and Borderlands skins among others.

  1. Be nice if there were a few totally free textures, I don't want to be changing it every other day, just to have a break from the default.
