Even film stars get swept away in the excitement of a new relationship.

And it seems Amanda Seyfried isn't immune to pre-date butterflies, as she was seen jumping for joy prior to a lunchtime rendezvous with new boyfriend Justin Long.

The 27-year-old actress grinned broadly as she arrived to meet her latest beau at BLD restaurant in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Dressed in a casual ensemble of sleeveless plaid shirt, frayed denim hot pants and black ballet flats, the Mama Mia! star looked radiant as she chatted on the phone.

Even the ubiquitous over-sized sunglasses she wore couldn't hide her happiness.

Accompanied by a friend, Amanda arrived separately from Long, who showed up wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans combo.

Swishing her thick blonde hair and flashing her long legs, the talented actress was sure to have stunned Long when he arrived.

Despite sparking rumours for weeks, it was just last Thursday that the pair tacitly confirmed they were in a relationship when they appeared together taking a stroll through Los Angeles.

Both Amanda and Justin have kept their relationship under wraps but a source told Us Weekly magazine: 'Justin is super private about his relationships, [so] I'm not positive how they exactly met, but they've known each other for a while, when they were seeing other people.

'They recently started hanging out more, going on date-like activities. They're both busy ... but they're seeing where it goes.'

Before Justin, Amanda was previously dating her ‘Mamma Mia’ co-star Dominic Cooper for three years.

After appearing as Cosette in the Oscar-winning musical Les Misérables, Seyfriend is much in demand and currently has six different projects in various stages of production.

She is currently filming A Million Ways To Die In The West, a film about a farmer who enlists the help of a gunslinger's wife to help him win back the woman who left him.

The popular star will appear alongside industry heavyweights Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron and Neil Patrick Harris.

Her hair is always so pretty and she's a great actress in any role she plays. I loved her especially in "Dear John" with Channing Tatum. They made such a cute couple in that movie. Such a good movie. :)
