Anne Hathaway puts $4.5 million Brooklyn waterfront apartment up for sale after never living in it over fears she had become too famous and it made her easily visible

She only bought it in January, but Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is already selling her waterfront apartment with views of Brooklyn bridge.

The actress, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables, has never lived in the ninth-floor $4.1 million apartment because she feared is made her too visible.

According to sources, the Brooklyn-born star of films including The Devil Wears Prada and Princess Diaries, has used the three-bedroom home as a walk-in closet.

She lives with husband Adam Shulman in another apartment in the Clocktower building, in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood, possibly the same one the couple rented last year.

According to Curbed, Hathaway had said 'she doesn't want to be recognized and believes she has too high a profile to be able to live in [New York]'.

For those who don't suffer from the problem of being recognized too easily, her 2,592 sq ft apartment is being offered for $4.5 million.

Each of the three bedrooms has a marble en suite bathroom, and the apartment has 16 over-sized windows with views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.

Set in a cobbled street in Brooklyn, the apartment also has a roof deck, gym and 24-hour attended lobby, according to realtors Warburg.

Ugly looking building. Wouldn't live in Brooklyn for a million bucks.

Gee I wonder if the large windows had something to do with that?

She may have bought it simply as an investment and never bothered to have CURTAINS made for the windows.

Why so people believe everything they read like this? A 'source' said this or that. It's ridiculous that people believe half of it. The media often doesn't even get direct quote right yet people will believe this sort of thing as fact. Pathetic.

Who would pay $4.5 million for an apartment in Brooklyn? Basically, if it's not in Manhattan, it's not NYC. - Oli, California, United States, 7/9/2013 21:29........................It's not your parents Brooklyn any more. Have you been to Brooklyn lately? Better condos and cleaner neighborhoods than Manhattan. Brooklyn is turning into an exquisite borough by the day. Manhattan condos are old and all they do is renovate them to make them nicer. But the newer modernized condos are being built in Brooklyn.

It is like a very posh office block. It looks cold and clinical. It would take you years to make it homely.

If she never lived in it - how do you know she used the spare bedrooms as closets?

That's the trouble with fame. You have to sell all the properties you bought because you were famous from fear of being seen in them by people who want to see you because you are famous. Sad person!
