Not so ladylike now! Katherine Jenkins vamps up her prim and proper dress with vertiginous platform heels as she prepares for Proms performance

She's known for her ladylike sense of style and is never usually one to push the boundaries when it comes to her sartorial tastes.

But Katherine Jenkins vamped up a rather prim and proper outfit with a pair of vertiginous boots as she touched down at Belfast City Airport on Friday afternoon.

Injecting a touch of va-va-voom to her buttoned-up ensemble, the 33-year-old mezzo-soporano balanced precariously on a pair of rock chick-inspired black suede boots with an eye poppingly-high platform as she confidently strode out of the terminal.

The foxy footwear stood in stark contrast to the rest of the Welsh songbird's outfit, which was a rather ladylike black belted dress, featuring a prim pussy-bow collar and a flattering belted waist.

The classically-trained musician toted an oversized black leather handbag, and wore her platinum blonde locks poker straight around her shoulders as she made her way outside to her waiting car.

And Katherine certainly appeared to be excited at the prospect of her headline slot at this year's BBC Proms in the Park event at Belfast's Titanic Slipways on Saturday night.

Writing on her Twitter page on Friday, she said: 'Excited to be back in Belfast for last night of the Proms.'

It's been a month of upheaval for the star, following her split from stockbroker boyfriend of six months, Adam Bidwell.

And just last week, Katherine reportedly signed a brand new record deal, after leaving Warner Music last year when her £5.8 million contract - said to be the most lucrative in classical music history - expired after five years with the label.

She has now done a full circle and has returned to Universal’s Decca offshoot – where she started back in 2004.

An insider told the Mail on Sunday: 'The new deal is a substantial sum, but it doesn’t match up with  the last one in terms of the amount of cash on the table.

'The last deal was huge, but realistically that was never going to happen again. The industry has changed a lot.’
