The $4.5MILLION walk-in closet! Anne Hathaway puts Brooklyn waterfront home up for sale after only ever using it to store clothes over fears it made her easily visible

She only bought it in January, but Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway is already selling her waterfront apartment with views of Brooklyn bridge.

The actress, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables, has never lived in the ninth-floor $4.1 million apartment because she feared is made her too visible.

According to sources, the Brooklyn-born star of films including The Devil Wears Prada and Princess Diaries, has used the three-bedroom home as a walk-in closet.

She lives with husband Adam Shulman in another apartment in the Clocktower building, in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood, possibly the same one the couple rented last year.

According to Curbed, Hathaway had said 'she doesn't want to be recognized and believes she has too high a profile to be able to live in [New York]'.

For those who don't suffer from the problem of being recognized too easily, her 2,592 sq ft apartment is being offered for $4.5 million.

Each of the three bedrooms has a marble en suite bathroom, and the apartment has 16 over-sized windows with views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.

Set in a cobbled street in Brooklyn, the apartment also has a roof deck, gym and 24-hour attended lobby, according to realtors Warburg.

For an actress as plastic as Anne Hathaway, she sure thinks very highly of herself.

Oh, Annie, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Hugh Jackman live in NYC, as do many other actors who are more talented than you'll ever be. Get over yourself, weird-looking girl.

Eh???!! She purchased the 'apartment' for $4.1m (about £2.6m) in January, and decides to sell up some eight months later?!? She clearly hasnt lived in London. Then there's the space - three bedrooms? What for, when there's only herself and her husband. And she says she's selling up because she fears the 'apartment' makes her too visible to the public - she didn't consider that prior to purchasing it? And she hasn't even lived in it since the purchase?! She's an estate agent's dream. What a waste of spending. And she wants $400,000 on top of what she paid, good luck. She wants to shift it, she may well have to reduce the price by a million or two. And 'too high a profile'?? No. Not from my angle. Amongst the New Yorkers, several of them could pass for Anne Hathaway, she should be concerned about NOT being recognised out there.

Anne, no worries - no one is looking for you. :-(

Well, curtains and don't put your name on the mail box for starters. Then, try not to have the stretch limo pull up to the front entrance every time you go to the market. Brooklyn has lots of celeb living there who don't manage to be paparazzi stalked, but they don't court the limelight. Ms. Hathaway has never tried not to be in the spotlight. Oh, and underwear might also help keep all eyes off you, too.

So some website on the internet says "according to sources", a statement that no one actually heard but it's reported as something she really said? Just wow. People buy and sell NYC properties all the time, and btw - they always ask far more than they eventually get because it's all about negotiation. You price it high so you have room to come down. It's always reported how some "take a loss" when in all actuality, they made money because they paid far less for it in the first place.

Horrible floorplan, with many poorly incorporated weight-bearing columns and much wasted space. Good luck selling this oversized closet as a living space.
