It's been just two months since her world was thrown into turmoil by the tragic death of her soulmate, Cory Monteith.
And as Lea Michele jetted into New York City on Saturday, the brave star showed she's still holding her lost love close to her heart, wearing her sweet silver 'Cory' tribute necklace around her neck.
The actress recently returned to work on season five of
Glee, the show where she and Cory met and fell in love, and has been spending time
with close friends as she deals with her loss.
Putting on a brave face: Lea Michele is slowly putting her life back together after tragically losing her boyfriend Cory Monteith to a heroin and alcohol overdose in July
In the memorial episode filmed in the actor's honour, Lea replaced her 'Cory' necklace with a 'Finn' one in character as Rachel Berry.
The 27-year-old looked effortlessly stylish in a pair of tight grey trousers, a white vest, denim jacket and black biker boots as she touched down at JFK International airport on Saturday - and even managed a smile at photographers as she left the building.
She carried a large black bag and wore her hair in a topknot, while large black sunglasses shielded her eyes.
Earlier in the week, Lea was working hard on the set of Glee, tweeting a message about her day.
Low profile: Lea has been spending time with friends and family and the Glee cast since Cory's death in July
She wrote, ‘Back at work:) Lots of dancing happening on set today w/ @NayaRivera!’
While Lea was delighted to be working with Naya again, her 26-year-old co-star admitted everyone was finding it difficult to deal with Cory’s death.
'We're definitely taking it day by day. Everybody's really just leaning on each other and trying to do good work,' Naya told Latina magazine.
Stocking up: Lea ensured she had enough reading material for the flight as she picked up a selection of gossip magazines with mother Edith Sarfati in Los Angeles
No entourage for her: Lea was joined for the trip by her mother and one assistant
The show's emotionally-charged tribute episode to the late actor, which is due to air October 10, in which they deal with his character Finn Hudson’s death, was apparently met with some mixed reactions from the ensemble cast.
'[Some cast members] are having to play reactions that they obviously would not feel in real-life, and that’s a weird thing to play,' Glee star Kevin McHale told The Inquisitr.
'Because you want people to know how you actually feel. But [writer Ryan Murphy and company] are staying true to the characters, and that’s the smart thing to do.'
Last Monday, Lea spent the Labor Day holiday in the mountains with her close friend Jonathan Groff.
The duo left Los Angeles on Saturday to spend some time in Big Sur, California, which was a much needed tonic for Lea.
She shared a picture of herself reclining in what appears to be a cave which looks out to some stunning scenery.
'Enjoying this Labor Day tucked away in the mountains, breathing in the fresh air! Have a beautiful day:) ☀,' she wrote alongside the snap.
