Who needs a nanny! Reese Witherspoon gets a helping hand from lookalike daughter Ava as she carts Tennessee to family lunch

For a working mother of three Reese Witherspoon always looks remarkably well put together.

And the actress revealed her secret weapon on Saturday - her helpful daughter Ava.

At 13 the youngster is no longer a handful - and is instead obviously keen to help out.

Lovely lunch: Reese Witherspoon took two of her children, Ava Phillippe, 13, and Tennessee Toth, 11 months, to Brentwood, California for a meal.

As the trio headed to the Country Mart in Brentwood, California for a family lunch Ava proved an extra pair of hands.

Carting her 11-month-old brother Tennessee on her hip, the teen proved an efficient babysitter.

With Ava at her side Reese looked happy and relaxed.

Tanned and tone: Reese and her family just got back from a Bahamas vacation and the mother-of-three was keen to show off her tan from the trip

The 37-year-old Legally Blonde star showed off her lean gym-honed legs in navy blue and white anchor print shorts, a white button down shirt, and blue sandals.

Reese was spotted in the same pair of chinos while in Los Angeles last month but chose to match her bottoms with a navy shirt instead.

Ava, who is Reese's daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, continued the nautical theme in a red and white striped 3/4 sleeve shirt and jean shorts.

Little Tennessee, whose father is Reese's current husband Jim Toth, wore a white collared shirt and mustard yellow shorts.

The tyke will turn one on September 27 but is already a world traveler.

In August, he accompanied his family to the Bahamas.

She and her family were back stateside within a few weeks, though, as they were spotted out and about near their Ojai, California home over Labor Day weekend.

Earlier this year, she had put the home on the market but even after slashing the price the home failed to sell.

The mother-of-three has spoken fondly of the mansion, telling Elle Decor magazine last July that it reminded her of growing up in the country.

‘It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside,' Reese told the magazine.

‘I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals.’

‘It is meditative and restorative,' she added. 'As soon as I drive through the gate, I relax. The air is fresh, the phone isn't ringing, you can't access e-mail.’

Personally I think Ava looks more like her dad Ryan Phillippe. She does look a lot like Reese but I see more of Ryan in her
