He's been practicing his pout! Jake Gyllenhaal can barely raise a smile as he premieres Enemy at Toronto

His movie Prisoners premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Friday and Jake Gyllenhaal was back on duty on Sunday for yet another.

Enemy, his second collaboration with director Denis Villeneuve to show at this year’s festival, had its premiere at the Ryerson Theatre in Toronto, Canada and Jake once again worked the crowd.

The handsome actor donned a dark three-piece suit, light blue shirt and navy tie as he smiled and signed autographs for fans.

However, with his hair slicked back and sporting well-groomed facial hair, 32-year-old Jake looked serious as he posed for pictures on the carpet.

While he loved filming with Denis twice, Jake admitted working on Enemy, which is based on the book The Double by José Saramago, was a ‘strange’ experience.

Speaking about the movie in which his character sets out to find his exact look-alike after spotting him in a film, Jake told the Huffington Post, ‘It was such an experiment, that film. That film is a very strange experience. And I wouldn't even necessarily call it a film; I would call it an experience.'

Jake also revealed he would love to establish a relationship with Denis similar to that of director Christopher Nolan and actor Christian Bale.

He explained, ‘You know, when you see a collaboration between somebody like Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, and they kind of keep coming back to each other in that way and that they trust each other ...

‘That would be amazing. But I think what Denis and I have is we have a great love for studio movies or larger movies, but keeping the human aspect to it and the psychology and the sense of detail and preparation and exploration and never taking anything for granted - which happens when somebody gives you a lot of money sometimes to make something.

‘I think we both share that, and his intention, I love. His intention is just to make great movies, no matter the size.’

On Friday, Gyllenhaal and his Prisoners co-star Hugh Jackman had women swooning as they happily signed autographs and posed for photos with fans at The Elgin.

It seems that the 44-year-old Australian actor became close with Jake while filming the thriller.
He posted a picture to his Twitter account of them both, with the comment: 'Not only a great actor but a great mate.’

Hugh stole the show as always with his effervescent personality, joking and laughing with fans as he took his time meeting with his adoring public.

Jake also appeared to be in good spirits - not to mention a hit with the ladies - as he interacted with the hordes of screaming fans.

I love Jake, and will admit I'm now stuck on the story about the scuffed up shoes. Lose a bet? Belonged to a buddy who died wearing them? Intriguing. Hop to it, DM.

Looks like he was going through his closet and found a corduroy suit from high school. "Look" he says, "it still fits!" Well, except the sleeves.

I love Jake Gyllenhaal. He's super talented and very very hot. I loved him on Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls.

He weards the expression of a troubled man struggling to come to terms with his repressed sexuality.

Love Denis Villeneuve's work, especially Incendies. I'm proud he's a Canadian talent.
