It may be the most predictable shade to wear to a red carpet event.

But co-stars Ralph Fiennes and Felicity Jones looked like a million dollars in black as they attended the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of their movie The Invisible Woman on Monday night.

The two actors complemented each other in their dark attire as they cuddled up to pose for the camera.

Gorgeous Felicity, 29, stunned in a strapless black puffball dress and pointed black stilettos.

Her raven hair was swept into a cute low bun with a side parting, showing off her delicate features.

She stood alongside co-star and director Ralph who was sharp in a black suit and shirt.

The Invisible Woman tells the tale of Charles Dickens' long love affair with the young actress Nelly Ternan.

Fiennes, who also directs the movie, stars as the married Dickens and Felicity takes the role of Nelly.

Speaking of the historical love affair, the actor told the Toronto Star newspaper how he didn't judge Dickens too harshly for his extra marital activities.

He said: 'I’m wary of the right-off judgment.

'I think of how many famous artists, politicians, superstars, rock stars and even ordinary people who lead, by and large, perfectly decent lives and there’s one thing, some jagged shard of emotion that affects them and they do stuff and we all go, ‘Oh, that’s bad.’

'I think it’s important to keep perspective on the whole of Dickens.'
