Rachel Hunter spends her 44th birthday at Pilates class... but she does get a little something from Tiffanys

Even on the one day where she should be relaxing, supermodel Rachel Hunter is focused on holding on to her incredible figure.

Or maybe that's just how she likes to relax.

On the morning of her 44th birthday the model and reality show personality went to a Pilates class with a friend in West Hollywood.

After class the two women grabbed lavender-colored fruit smoothies.

Hunter wore a sleeveless gray tank top with lime green designs on the front, jean shorts and flip flops.

She carried a large orange leather purse that had all of her pilates gear tucked inside of it and wore polarized Ray Ban sunglasses.

The day before she posted a picture to Instagram of a gift she received from Tiffany's, which an adorable French Bulldog named Stanley apparently helped her open.

'What.... I know how to unwrap presents...#frenchbulldog,' Hunter posted.

It was a ring, given by her kids.

On Sunday night, the model mom posted a picture of herself kissing her 'birthday date': A unicorn birthday balloon floating beside her at an outdoor dinner table.

The New Zealand beauty first gained notoriety through her appearance in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1989 and subsequently married rock star Rod Stewart the following year.

Model for life: Hunter has worked hard to maintain her fantastic looks over the past few years

Over the next nine years they had two children, before separating in 1999 and officially divorcing in 2006.

Hunter has since made a name for herself as a reality television personality, appearing as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Circus.

Currently, she is a judge on the third season of her native land's hit show New Zealand's Got Talent.

Your comments:Could you try and get it right DM, she didn¿t spend her birthday at Pilates, she went to a class on her birthday and your pap waiting outside just happened to snap her pic. Doubtless when he does the exact same thing later in the week it will be with some inane headline like ¿working hard¿ but no one really cares

For all those suggesting she should have stayed with Rod and that things haven't turned out the way she hoped - try reading Rod's autobiography and you may get a glimpse as to why she left him. He states quite matter of factly that he went out, bought a house and then proceeded to furnish it - all without giving her the chance to have any say in the matter. Methinks he was a little controlling and, although he might not have meant to be that way, she was still very young and may well have feared the rest of life would be about doing what Rod wanted and never getting the chance to be herself. It's always a shame when a marriage ends but when one half of the partnership is older and more experienced, it's possibly only a matter of time before the younger partner begins to grow and wants a say in how their lives together progress. Just maybe she didn't see Rod being able to give her that.
