There’s only 14 years between them but that didn’t stop Jude Law playing Emilia Clarke’s father in their new movie Dom Hemingway.

The duo walked the red carpet at the Princess of Wales Theatre on Sunday for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) premiere of the flick where Jude looked more like Emilia’s romantic love interest than her dad.

The 40-year-old actor has dropped the 30lbs he piled on to play safecracking ex-con Dom Hemingway in the dark-comedy and looked dapper in a dark suit which he paired with a hat.

Emilia, 26, was stunning in a bright yellow Vivienne Westwood dress, with her long brown hair pulled back off her face.

She paired the outfit with nude shoes and clutch bag and added a slick of red lipstick to finish the look.

In the movie, Jude’s character recruits his old criminal pal Dickie (Richard E. Grant) to help collect his payment for maintaining his silence and protecting his crime boss while serving a 12-year stint in a London prison.

He also attempts to repair his relationship with his daughter, played by Clarke.

However, nothing goes as planned, and soon Don returns to his old ways.

Producer Jeremy Thomas recently praised Law’s ‘chutzpah’ for taking on a role unlike any he has done before and for piling on weight for the part.

‘[The audience] will love him. You've never seen anything like it before. He put on an enormous amount of weight. He's got mutton chops and he's got a big belly, and he's very full of expletives and swearing and bad language and bad actions, he told The Independent.

He added: ‘You admire the chutzpah to play a part like that and to take the bull by the horns. He loved doing it. He read the script and said immediately says he’s doing it.’

Proud: Richard E. Grant, who plays Dom's old criminal pal Dickie, showed off his Union Jack phone cover on the red carpet

Madalina Ghenea, who plays Paolina, the femme fatale, in the movie, lived up to her character as she walked the carpet in a dramatic red gown.

She wisely chose no accessories as the dress made enough of a statement on its own and added just some red lipstick.

Richard E. Grant also attended and proudly flaunted his British roots, holding up his phone cover featuring the Union Jack flag.

Almost unrecognisable: Producer Jeremy Thomas spoke about Jude's 'mutton chops' and 'big belly' for the movie

Can't believe that DM didn't mention a thing about Jude Law's persistent dependence on a hat to conceal his receding hairline.

Richard E Grant looks amazingly healthy - did you know he never drinks alcohol because he is seriously allergic to it? It makes his performance in Withnail & I all the more genius.
