Hello!  I decided I wanted to make my own personal hair growth journal here too. I already have several Yahoo groups watching me  Just to introduce myself: My name is Ida, I’m 22 and I live in Denmark where I study for plant and construction engineer. I’m 1,75 m or about 5´9”, have grey eyes and reddish blonde hair. I’m a 1BCiii according to Fias hair typing system. Or in normal words: Straight hair with a tiny bit of wave, very coarse hair and a perimeter on my pony tail at about 15 cm or 5,9 inches. It’s all one length and I’m growing it out after having it all shaved of. Why would I want to do that? Well, to make a very long story short- My hair was very damaged and I have had long hair for my entire life without really wanting it or caring for it. My friend Helle gives me the final push to shave it. She said "You’re 20, and you’ll soon be too old to do something as unmistakably stupid as shaving your head. So do it now or you’ll never do it." And the thought of that scared me more then the thought of how stupid I would look bald. She offers to do it for me and an hour later my waist length hair is all over her apartment floor. It looks like someone has slaughtered Chewbacca in there! I look awful, but I’m happy. It will grow out and I have wanted to try something different with it for ages. Shocks most of my family with my bald look. Most of them just laugh at me, but my mother is pissed and forces me to wear a pixy hat. We play our package-game like always and I win a hair brush. They all laugh until they almost choke. | ||

Happy birthday to me- I turn 21. My hair is now 4,3 cm long ( circa 1,7 inches) My hair refuses to lay down and it gives me a certain similarity with a lion. My friends are still laughing. | ||

I go to a hair dresser to have it cut short in the neck so the hair on my crown can grow longer than the rest. Good idea, but it gives me a strong similarity with a mushroom. My friends nearly double over with laughter. | ||

My hair is now circa 6 cm long (circa 2,4 inches) and its starting to lay down in big, irregular spots. It looks awful! Either I have to gel it up or gel it down. It gets in my eyes and is generally annoying. The morning hair is just awful. My boyfriend is laughing his ass of.  Last edited by Igor : February 2nd, 2005 at 04:35 AM. All dressed up for my mother’s very formal 50est birthday party. I have my hair up in a pony tail and it looks very nice. It’s just exactly long enough to be pulled up in a pony tail. Made my first bun today. Its still too short for me to put all of it up in a pony tail, the hair in the neck still have to hang loose. I thought it would be a good idea to make a post about my expected growth for the years to come. I know my hair grow 3mm a week and every time I shower, I comb my hair over my face to see how much it grows. Every time I can feel that I can grab a little more and a little longer hair under my chin. Right now is about as long as down to the joint of my thumb With 3 mm pr week it adds up to 15,6 cm or 6,14 inches per year and no trims my hair would grow as follows (I’m 1,75 or about 5´9” ): April 2004 (Age 23): 322 mm (A little below shoulder length) April 2005 (Age 24): 478 mm (BSL) April 2006 (Age 25): 634mm (Almost waist length) April 2007 (Age 26): 790 mm (Below hip-bone) April 2008 (Age 27): 946 mm (Classic length) April 2009 (Age 28 ): 1102 mm (Mid thigh- As long as the longest I have had before!) April 2010 (Age 29): 1258 mm (Knee length) April 2011 (Age 30): 1414 mm (Getting close to calf-length) April 2012 (Age 31): 1570 mm (Getting close to ankle length) April 2013 (Age 32): 1726 mm (Getting close to the floor) Of course this is without any trims! (Which I can't and won’t keep up!  ) | ||
