It's the first milestone for every expectant couple and Jay Sean and his wife Thara Natalie couldn't wait to tell all.

And what better way than sharing their three month scan photo with the world?

The pair posted the familiar black and white image announcing their pregnancy on Instagram and were soon overwhelmed by messages of congratulations.

Londoner Jay, 32, told his followers on social media: 'Well here it is!' The new addition to the fam!'

'As some of you may no know, me and the wifey are expecting a Lil Sheezy … or Sheezette!

The scan was part of a cute collage of pictures including one of his wife and one of the happy couple together.

The 'Mars' singer thanked well-wishers after receiving scores of messages.

He later wrote on Twitter: Thanks for all ur love! Me and the wifey @TharaNatalie are very happy and excited to be a expecting a Little Sheezy or... Sheezette.'

Jay has made a point of keeping his private life hidden in the past.

Until the posting, he had never even confirmed that he had married although rumours suggest they wed as long ago as 2009.

She sang on his second album My Own Way in 2008.

Thara, 31, is an American R&B singer and model who also describes herself as Jay's 'co-manager'
