HUNGARY: TESCO OPENS FIRST FILLING STATION
Tesco-Global Aruhazak, part of UK retailer Tesco, opened its first petrol filling station near its hypermarket in the Pesterzsebet district in the capital Budapest on March 10, 2004. Prices of petrol and diesel sold in the Tesco filling station will be by between 5.0 Hungarian forints ($0.0024/0.020 euro) and 10 forints ($1.049/0.039 euro) lower than those in the rest of the petrol stations countrywide, Tesco's communication director, Emese Danks, said. In 2004, Tesco plans to build between five and seven filling stations near some of its hypermarkets in Hungary, Danks added.
