The Western Australian Youth Orchestras Association (Inc.) (formerly the Western Australian Youth Music Association) is a non-profit Association dedicated to musical excellence.
Founded in 1974 in Perth, Western Australia, the Association has enriched and diversified music practice in Australia, which in recent years has been through the delivery of seven ensembles which now include the Western Australian Youth Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Collegium and Sinfonietta String Orchestras, the WAYO Academy program, the award-winning Flute Choir and two South West Youth Strings ensembles. WA Youth Orchestras' 500 members are aged from 8 to 24 and are drawn from all parts of Western Australia. The Association regularly reaches live audiences in excess of 30,000 per annum.

To become a member of one of our ensembles, students audition every year in November. Audition information and application forms are available for download from the Auditions page from mid-August each year, and also upon request from the WAYO office.
