This position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC), Office of the Director.
This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZP-03 is equivalent to the GS-11/12. The ZP-04 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.
This position is also announced under vacancy number NMFS-PIC-2013-0012 (MAP) which is open to status candidates. You must apply to both announcements if you want to be considered for both.
* The probationary period for new appointees in research positions is three years.
* Payment of relocation expenses is not authorized.
* This position is not in the bargaining unit.
* COLA (Cost of living allowance) for this position is 12.25%. The COLA is not reflected in the salary shown for this position.
