Not your best look! Bethenny Frankel jokes around as she tries on blonde wig on her chat show but gets serious to open up about her 'horrendous' divorce

Her long brunette locks are one of her best features so Bethenny Frankel’s decision to cover them with a blonde wig wasn’t the best idea.

The former reality TV star was trying out a wig from her guest Vivica Fox’s line on her chat show Bethenny and opted for a wavy blonde number.

However, she soon returned to her own natural locks as the pair chatted on the episode which will air on Monday, October 7 and Bethenny even opened up on her ‘horrendous’ divorce from Jason Hoppy.

The 42-year-old star and her ex are currently embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their three-year-old daughter Bryn and Bethenny spoke out about the disparity between her successful professional life and chaotic personal dramas.

‘What I am going through publicly and professionally at the same time is very difficult,’ she said. ‘It really is. I have two things going on at the exact same time that are so strong, so powerful and one's phenomenal and one's horrendous but we are strong, we do it. You try to get to sleep at night.’

When Vivica turned interviewer to ask, ‘Doesn't it suck that's in the public eye?’, Bethenny replied, ‘I don't even care about that anymore. It's a very personal experience. That Kelly Clarkson song, that Kanye song, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, it really does.’

While Bethenny was married to Peter Sussman for a year in 1996 and tied the knot with Jason in 2010 before splitting in December last year, she shockingly revealed she has met the love of her life but never married him.

She said: ‘You don't have to marry the love of your life. I know who the love of my life is and I am not married to that person and I was the love of this person's life too but we would not have worked in a marriage.’

She continued: ‘Did anyone ever see the movie, The Way We Were, Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford they were the love of each other's lives, doesn't mean it's going to work so do not spend the rest of your life fantasising. It's chasing the dragon, drug addicts do that, to chase that one original high and you are never going to get that, its' chasing the dragon.’

Bethenny also revealed she would love to have another child but thinks it is now too late.
She said: ‘I already do have a child but I feel like I wanted to have more than one kid but I'm too old and I don't have a family.’

Along with opening up on her own romantic drama, Bethenny asked Vivica, 49, about the breakdown of her relationship with her 26-year-old toyboy fiancé.

Vivica explained: ‘We broke up three months before the wedding. Kids wasn't the issue at all. It was just that it just wasn't right and I had to be honest with myself, I wasn't happy anymore. He's a great guy but he just wasn't for me.

'My family, my sister, my brother lives in Atlanta and I was about to move my life to Atlanta and they could see that I wasn't happy and they said, “You are just doing this because you want to have a child and you want to move closer back east to the family,”; my family lives back east. I just for the last twenty years was so focused on Vivica and my career, and what was the next job and what was the next thing I could do.

‘I wanted to do something different. I wanted to have a child and I wanted to be closer to my family. I moved away when I was 17 years old.’

Vivica also opened up about a conversation she had with Halle Berry, where the actress revealed she wishes she had started having children sooner.

Speaking about Halle, who has Nahla, five with her ex Gabriel Aubry and is expecting a son with husband Olivier Martinez, Vivica said: ‘You get to that point to where you can't [have children]. You get a lot of people who are like, “Oh well, you can adopt,” and maybe I can but I did want to try to have my own child because I will never forget when I saw Halle Berry one time and how happy I saw that she was with Nahla. And I said, “Nahla has brought you so much joy” and she said, “I wish I would have did it years ago, I would have had five.”’
