Rachel McAdams is in Oahu, Hawai shooting Deep Tiki for famed director Cameron Crowe.

Not only was she surrounded by tropical scenery, but she got to indulge in some on-set treatment at the skilled hands of the movie's make-up artist.

Rachel was spotted getting primped and pampered on Friday as she prepared to film scenes for the romantic comedy.

The 34-year-old stood still while the beautician transformed this cute, snub-nosed girl from Canada into a flawless beauty.

Rachel stayed very still during the process, but when he was finished checked his handiwork in a compact mirror.

She must have been well-satisfied for she went on to film the scene, which involved her getting into a car at what appeared to be a Hawaiian cemetery.

All the while, Rachel was followed by half a dozen crew who monitored all those other things like lighting and camera angles.

One crew member's job was to hold a large blue umbrella over Rachel's head, presumably so she wouldn't sweat all of the make-up artist's hard work away.

She also didn't seem to mind the cool shade out of the warm tropical sun.

Almost ready: The scene involved Rachel walking to her car and getting in, but even that simple task involved a lot of preparation

Rachel wore her hair wound into a glamourous updo with strands falling here and there.

Her costume for the day's scene consisted of a navy, long-sleeved frock and brown leather pumps, as well as a straw handbag.

Deep Tiki also stars Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Alec Baldwin, who weren't seen on the set this day.

The story revolves around a defense contractor (Cooper) who has fallen on his luck and goes to Hawaii to manage a satellite launch.

It is there that he falls for a beautiful Air Force pilot (Stone) who tries to wreck the launch, but then while his former wife (McAdams) appears to throw things into confusion.

Rachel, whose first breakout role was in 2004's Mean Girls, seemed to be in wonderful spirits.

In her romantic life, she's been linked to Ryan Gosling, Josh Lucas and Michael Sheen.

Rachel is currently said to be dating Canadian music manager Patrick Sambrook.

Sambrook appears to be her first romance since her February split from Welsh actor and Masters Of Sex star Michael Sheen after a two-and-a-half-year relationship.
