His son Robin Thicke has caused controversy lately with his racy Blurred Lines music video and what many deemed 'lewd' MTV VMAs performance.

And Alan Thicke certainly didn't help matters during a recent interview.

The 66-year-old suggested Robin, 36, and his wife Paula Patton, 37, 'adopt a few Ethiopian kids' in order to become 'the next Brangelina.'

'I told [Robin], "You're a power couple now. If you only adopt a few Ethiopian kids, you'd be the next Brangelina,"' the former Growing Pains star told Us Weekly about his son and daughter-in-law, who are parents to son Julian, three.

Alan also spoke about his son's sudden success with his hit song Blurred Lines,

'It's amazing. It's a rocket ride,' he said. 'I'm thrilled for him. I've always dabbled in music. If I could have grown up to be Robin Thicke, I would have. But I'm glad somebody in the family did.'

He also praised actress Paula. 'She has a great movie, Baggage Claim, and is getting wonderful reviews for that,' he said.

Robin recently opened up about his marriage to Paula, calling her his first priority.

'Seventy-five percent of my songs are about how much I love my wife and how much I need her,' he said in a new Vanity Fair interview.

'We're very lucky to have the greatest friendship; we're John and Yoko—whatever that is — that's who she is to me.

I hope not, he makes me feel a little bit ill; I think it was that beetlejuice suit he was wearing at the VMAs

I think it will take more than just adopting to make them into power couple. They're succesful in their own right but no means super starz!
