Blonde ambition! Ashley Greene seizes the spotlight in sexy LBD at the New York premiere of her new film CBGB

First she played a vampire who could see the future in Twilight and now she's delving into the underground club scene in CBGB.

Ashley Greene owned the night once again as she strolled to the premiere of CBGB in New York on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old actress owed part of her success to that classic outfit commonly known as the little black dress.

Ashley's version featured an uneven halter neckline that the designer probably made that way but gave Ashley cause to pull up during her walk down the red carpet.

No matter, Ashley still amazing in the clingy number that stopped just short of her perfect knees.

A pair of dazzling, pointy pumps and black clutch provided the short list of accessories, not that Ashley needed any.

Her now-blonde hair was enough to sway attention her way, parted in the middle to expose her dark roots and trailing to her shoulder blades in an edgy style.

Ashley was joined at the star-studded event, part of the CBGB Music & Film Festival, by co-star Stana Katic.

To those who don't remember or weren't even born yet, CBGB stands for Country Bluegrass Blues and is a music club in New York that opened in 1973 and saw such bands as Blondie, Talking Heads and the Ramones perform on stage.

Stana looked rocker girl riveting in a tummy-baring, black bustier and a flaring black skirt with sheer panels, as well as black heels.

Actress Eliza Dushku went the more casual route in jeans and light denim jacket with sheepskin lining.

Eliza had fun posing with the movie's Freddy Rodriguez too.

Actor Mark Consuelos - otherwise known as the husband of talk show host Kelly Ripa - was in attendance as well, as was the film's Vincent Hinckley.

Bill Pullman smiled his usual 'shucks, ma'm' smile at the cameras while sporting longer hair.

And model Susan Holmes-McKagan, who looked somewhere between old-fashioned and rock 'n roll in a lacy ivory frock with fishnets, arrived with her husband Duff McKagan, former bassist of Guns N'Roses.

On Monday, Ashley went on a promoting expedition in Soho as part of Apple Store Presents: Meet The Actor.

Ashley enjoyed chatting about the film, in which she plays Lisa Kristal, daughter of CBGB's founder Hilly Kristal, who will be played by Alan Rickman.

CBGB is set for release in US theatres on Friday.

ashley baby...your choice in hair color makes you look 36 instead of 26. please go back to brown! stania...whew! you're hot! no wonder i feel for you as the bad girl spy on 24 way back in the day. BTW...you both look uncomfortable in those high heels! just look at their feet. they look punished!

CBGBs was the most important club in the New York punk scene, and was hugely influential on the London punks. I would have killed to be there at that time... I hope the film does it justice!
