Come rain or shine! Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio styles it out after being caught in rare Los Angeles downpour

Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio got caught without an umbrella as a sudden downpour hit LA's coastal resort of Santa Monica on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Victoria's Secret beauty was out and about early in the seaside city for a workout at a local pilates studio.

Alessandra was dressed only in a light grey sweatshirt emblazoned with the words 'nothing is wrong if it feels good' pulled over a red T-shirt and dark grey shiny leggings when the heavens opened on the already chilly day.

She pulled her grey cap down low over her face against the rain as she sloshed along the sidewalk in flat black and white pumps, clutching a black handbag.

Despite the rain, the 5ft 8inch celebrity kept her sunglasses on.

After the workout class, Alessandra picked up her 17-month-old son, Noah, who looked cozy in a grey-and-white striped sweatshirt and grey sweatpants, with a white cap keeping his head warm.

Later in the day the brunette sensibly changed into a warmer outfit to collect her five-year-old daughter Anja from school.

Alessandra cheered up the dismal afternoon by opting for multi-coloured flowery jeans that showed off her long legs, paired with a black T-shirt and jacket and matching ankle boots.

Little Anja wore a black dress and leggings with a bright pink vest and rubber boots.

Both the Brazilian beauty's children are from Alessandra's relationship with her businessman fiance Jamie Mazur, who she has been engaged to since 2008.

The day wasn't a total washout for Alessandra who earlier went shopping with Jamie at designer Michael Kors' stores after having lunch at the Urth Cafe in West Hollywood.

She tried on a chic shaggy sleeveless jacket at the store, as Jamie looked on admiringly.
