Some parents are happy to leave their children to their own devices on holiday, but not Sylvie van der Vaart.

The model mother-of-one was up and about with her son Damien on the beach, playing games on the sandy shores of Miami.

Wearing a floral bikini, Sylvie, 35, definitely proved herself to be an active, hands-on parent..

And though her focus has been making sure her seven-year old son has a killer time on holiday, van de Vaart has been giving her beach wardrobe a work out, wearing a different piece of swim wear everyday.

On Monday she opted for a tribal print, halterneck bikini, switching to a monochrome, bandeau two-piece the following day.

Clearly Sylvie knows that switching up the style and shape of her bikini on a daily basis will leave with the least amount of tan lines; evident by her enviable bronzed skin.

However, with the gold watch and bracelets on her left hand, it's hard to imagine Sylvia not returning home with a rather big white strip on her wrist underneath.

Sadly for her fans, Sylvie hasn't been documenting her holiday on Twitter, with her profile showing that her last tweet was sent on New Year's Eve, with a picture of her former husband, the football star Rafael van der Vaart.

On that night, Sylvie was struck by Rafael after an argument, which led to their separation. A few days after the incident, the Hamburger SV player apologised in German newspaper, Bild: ‘It was very foolish of me. I’m an idiot. I’m very sorry. It should never have happened.’

Their relationship could not recover, and to add insult to injury, Rafael started dating his ex-wife's best friend Sabia Boulahrouz, who also happens to be the wife of his Hamburg teammate Khalid Boulahrouz.

BUt proving to be the stronger woman, Sylvie had no qualms over the awkward match-up.

'It's his decision,' she told Hello magazine. 'I wish them the best, right now I am focused on my son Damián. He is the most important thing for me.'

I feel so bad for her, the best friend moving in on her husband. The lowest of the low. So it's good to see she is trying to move on and enjoy life!

She's posing for the paparazzi, it's part of her campaign to be seen nicer than Sabia, best friend turned rival. Has gained some weight too probably due to the sircumsatnces.
