'I won't spend more than two or three weeks away from him': Orlando Bloom feels 'weird' leaving son Flynn while wife Miranda Kerr takes only seven days off parent duty

Orlando Bloom is one of the busiest actors around. So it's no wonder he has to jet off to film sets from time to time, leaving his son Flynn, aged one, at home.

But in the November issue of InStyle he admits, 'I won't spend more than two or three weeks away from him.'

His wife Miranda Kerr, however, has a different rule. She 'doesn't spend more than a week' apart from her first child, explains the actor.

If the Troy star stays any more than three weeks away from his boy, 'I start to twitch and feel really weird.'

As far as his in-demand supermodel wife taking more than seven days away from her baby, he says, 'She won't, she can't.'

This admission comes just two weeks after new mother Kim Kardashian said she was 'sad' to leave her newborn daughter North for several days as she took in Paris Fashion Week with her the father of her child Kanye West.

Orlando is currently calling New York City home - and he will be till at least January - as he's been been co-starring with Condola Rashad in the Broadway version of Romeo and Juliet.

The family has stayed put in the Big Apple since the summer when rehearsals for the telling of William Shakespeare's greatest love story began.

Miranda, 30, has often been seen taking her adorable son out for walks in Central Park to enjoy the autumn weather.

But for most of their six years together - they wed in 2010 - the couple has been all over the globe.

'Flynn is not in school yet, so we're still pretty loosey-goosey,' he tells the fashion monthly.

'We're a bit of a traveling circus.'

The actor has been busy shooting films, such as the two Hobbit epics which were shot on location in New Zealand.

Miranda often travels to Europe for work as she models for Victoria's Secret and does runway shows for Versace and Christian Dior.

In September she was in Paris for Fashion Week where she walked the runway for Stella McCartney.

She also just shot the new campaign for Swarovski.

The 36-year-old film star explains there is a method to the madness of their schedules.

'She flies somewhere for work, I take care of Flynn,' he admits to the fashion magazine.

'I go off to work, she takes care of Flynn. Or, you know, we're together, and we just make it work. We're not conventional in any way, shape or form.'

The fashion fan, who says in the interview he likes clothes by Dior and Margiela, also talks a bit about his Australian wife.

He admits he's attracted to her because of her confidence.

'The truth is she can put her mind to anything she wants to, anything,' he gushes.

'It's easy in this world to be to be, as Madonna put it so well back in the day, a material girl in a material world. And I can be guilty of that kind of thing too.

'But for me, I like someone who is empowered.' he adds. In that regard she is a beautiful partner and wife.'

It's cute how much these two lie. She's been pictured (by her paparazzi friends) on the opposite side of the country for WEEKS away from her child. Him too. Come now, just admit it. Honestly, all these two really have now is the paparazzi, neither of their careers are going anywhere.

I know they have to but I think it is a bit sad. When my husband has to go away for the night with work, our daughter misses him like crazy and is so pleased to see him again the next day. Same if I go away, although that is very rare. For a littlun to not see his mum/dad every day at that age is a shame. They will miss out on all the important first times.

I think this couple is committed to their son, whatever else might be said about Miranda and Orlando individually.

I can't believe DM is comparing this to Kim K. Her boy is more than a year old so, a week away is not bad. Kim was just 3 months old. Spending almost a week in another continent just seemed selfish. But I guess Kanye calls the shots. I doubt she has a say in anything.

Love that little chap, so adorable. Surely by now Miranda and Orlando have amassed enough money between them to live in comfort and luxury and support their son and other relatives for the rest of their lives? I could not spend that length of time away from my children, I wouldn't consider it fair to them, no matter how much I was being paid for it. Time with your parents at that age is priceless to the child.
