The last time that Miley Cyrus was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show the host tossed a surprise engagement party for her complete with male strippers.

The 20-year-old singer hid her face behind her hands during the November 2012 show as the shirtless dancers gyrated near her.

Miley returned to the chat show in an episode to be broadcast on Friday after confirming last month that she and ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth had split up.

The 55-year-old Ellen reminded her of the engagement party.

'Do you want your money back?' the quick-witted pop star asked her.

Ellen joked that she wanted a refund and also noted that Miley seemed to enjoy the male strippers.

'I should've kept one of those dudes numbers,' Miley cracked. 'That would've come in handy now.'

The former Hannah Montana star was asked if the attention over her split with Liam was awkward.

'It’s not really as awkward because I’m living it. So I think people spend more time actually thinking about it then I really do,' Miley said.

'I just believe when a chapter is done you have to close it and start that new one. That’s kind of where I am right now,' she added.

Miley showed that she's truly turning a new page as she recently got rid of Liam's remaining clothes at her home by having an assistant give the clothes to a charity store in West Hollywood, California.

Miley hosted Saturday Night Live last weekend and has been pushing her new album Bangerz on the talk show circuit.

I'm not a huge Miley fan but I have to admit she sounded very optimistic and well spoken on Ellen. You could tell she was mentally maturing, I just think she is struggling with how to portray that in her actions.

After reading some comments about Selena Gomez, I can assume the majority like her. Well, she cant sing live and she doesn't write ANY of her own songs. She takes credit for other's work. Whereas Miley does write her own music and can sing amazingly live. She's made a few mistakes, but so what? I know why you're all targeting Miley, it's because she doesn't look like your standard of beauty. I would rather my daughter look up to Miley- someone who isn't afraid to do her own thing, despite what others are saying. Than Selena- conform to long pretty hair and take credit for other song writers, use auto tune and ride off her looks. You all need to get your priorities straight.
