The Jonas Brothers as a band at least, may not make it through this current tumultuous stage.

And Joe Jonas appears pretty concerned about the future of his music career, cutting a lonesome figure as he stepped out on Thursday in Los Angeles, California.

Trying to forget about his troubles for the day, the 24-year-old pop star stopped at the Soho house and then headed to a recording studio.

Seeming preoccupied, the singer barely looked up, keeping his eyes on the ground as he covered his head with a black cap.

Joe still managed to appear trendy, sporting a black shirt, shiny blue jacket, dark blue trousers, and black sneakers.

But while his jacket shone, his mood was morose.

It was just announced that the Jonas Brothers have cancelled their upcoming tour because of tension between the group.

Taking fans and those tour on the surprise, the trio cancelled their first full tour in years with little warning on Wednesday.

Even the band's own people appear to have been left in shock openly revealing Joe, Kevin and Nick have fallen out.

The brothers Joe, 24, Kevin, 25, and Nick, 21, were scheduled to begin their 19-date tour Friday in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.

Their spokesman, Jesse Derris, told People magazine in a surprisingly candid statement: 'There is a deep rift within the band.'

He continued: 'There was a big a disagreement over their music direction.'

Shockingly the rift is so bad Jesse revealed this may delay their new album, V, or even mean the end of the band who only just reformed after taking a break ti complete solo projects.

When asked about the future, the rep was not overly optimistic: 'It remains to be seen.'

The album was the band's first since 2009 and is also their first since splitting with Disney's Hollywood Records label.

Both the album, and the tour, was meant to introduce the band's fans to their new more mature sound.

The representative said fans can get a refund at the point of purchase.

The group tweeted about the tour as recently as Tuesday, posting a picture of a poster for the Pennsylvania stop.

A source close to the tour revealed to the MailOnline everyone was 'blindsided'.

The source said: 'They had hidden this well, no one saw it coming.

'The crew were all ready to go with everyone flying in today and Thursday to kick off the tour.

'People were expecting to be working solidly for the next month now they are not.'

Even their support act Bonnie McKee was in the dark until the last minute.

It was not until after the representative told People that the American Girl singer was able to reveal the bad news to fans.

The singer - who wrote almost all of Katy Perry's recent hits - tweeted: 'Hey guys sad 2 say my tour w @jonasbrothers has been canceled! But I will be out 2 see u all very soon- I have a super fun show ready 2 go!'

Just a few weeks ago, the boys seemed excited to show the world the new Jonas Brothers.

Showing they were no longer the cookie cutter Disney band, Nick, Kevin - who has a child on the way - and Joe sat down with gay and lesbian magazine Out.

Tellingly Kevin revealed the brothers had taken a break due to some tensions between them.

The oldest Jonas said: 'For seven years, it was nonstop. We had moments where we got frustrated with one another and we really just needed time alone.

'You can imagine what it’s like for a band to be together all the time, but imagine if they’re family, too.'

Nick said now was the time to reform - and to do so without their old label, which no longer understood their musical direction.

'I think we realized that, creatively, we were in very different places.'

Joe agreed: 'We were in that place where we were starting to think about being able to make our grown-up record. We didn’t want to talk about if they would put a parental advisory label on it.'

The New Jersey trio first shot to fame in 2005 and quickly became Disney mega stars appearing on Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana and also got their own show title, of course, Jonas.

"Deep rift"????................How about they can't sell tickets and their career is over.................. happens to 99% of child stars. Their 8 year old fans have simply grown up, and they certainly don't have the ability to attract adult fans. Its really that simple.

People who are saying they're talentless and aren't creative have never listened to their real music. You brand them as some Disney boys who sing silly little songs when really they are so much more than that. You should try and listen to some of the songs from their last album. And taking in mind they wrote all their own stuff. 90% of the music industry doesn't.

You people are ignorant speaking of something you know nothing about. Haters are people jealous because of the attention this band and songwriters get. First, the article is wrong. This is not their first tour after getting back together. They toured for nearly two months this summer playing some of their new music at large full stadium venues and they have lots of fans and talent. And it is not ticket sales. There concerts were full this summer. Little girls may have new favs, but Jonas has older fans who are grown now too like they are. They simply added this 19-day add-on tour of smaller venues right before the album is to come out. They are awesome, cool, guys with great music and millions of fans. It's unfortunate there is an issue they ned to address but they are human like the rest of us.

Maybe he finally came out and due to their strict religious views that'd be a big no no.
