Kerry Washington did indeed share something special during a pre-recorded appearance on Good Morning American on Friday.
But it had nothing to do with the swirling rumours she is pregnant.
On Thursday night the 'is-she-isn't-she' debate was ignited again after a teaser for GMA aired during the commercial break for her hit show Scandal.

Good causes: Instead Kerry told host Robin Roberts about her involvement in a documentary film, Girl Rising. A plug for the interview, which aired during Scandal on Thursday, teased she would 'share something special'
It showed Kerry whispering to GMA host Robin Roberts and viewers were encouraged to tune into Friday's show to see the 36-year-old actress 'share something special' on the programme.
As it turned out, Kerry was speaking about her involvement in a new documentary film Girl Rising, which is being screened in communities across the globe today to mark the International Day Of The Girl.
The film shares the plight of nine girls in third world countries and their efforts to get education against all odds.
Washington is among a host of A-list stars narrating the girls' stories; others include Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Alicia Keys.
'This is about saving children's lives,' Kerry told Good Morning America.
But on Thursday night, the Twittersphere was ablaze with fresh speculation she was going to address baby rumours.
Expecting? The Twittersphere was abuzz with pregnancy rumours after the teaser for the interview aired, pictured here last week in New York in a loose-fitting dress when she pre-recorded the GMA chat

Gossip that she was expecting a child first began to circulate when she married in private with just her parents and sister in attendance in June.
Kerry, wed San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi, 32, in Ohio after dating for a year.
And as she promotes the new season of her show Scandal, Kerry isn't doing much to dispel the gossip, and it seems, has sparked even more.
The star has recently been stepping out in an array of loose-fitting outfits.
Settling down: Gossip that she was expecting a child first began to circulate when she married Nnamdi Asomugha in private with just her parents and sister in attendance last July
So far she has kept mum on the baby question, although in 2010, when she was engaged to actor David Moscow, she told Jet magazine that she was not ready for children.
More recently in July, shortly after her wedding, she told People magazine: ‘I'm blessed in all areas of my life.’
The actress, who plays Capitol Hill crisis management guru Olivia Pope in the hit ABC show, is known to be fiercely protective of her private life.
Adding fuel to fire: Kerry opted for loose-fitting dresses while promoting the new season of her hit show Scandal last week in New York
In October's Glamour magazine, she said: 'I learned through experience that it doesn't work for me to talk about my personal life. I've had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it.
'But I couldn't just turn around and say, "I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff,"' she said.
'So I just thought, "OK, no more,"' she added.
