No other celebrity in the world comes close to matching the car collection of talk show host Jay Leno.

He has it all, from the classics and the one-offs to the contemporaries and super cars and sports cars.

He's even got his own mechanics, he has his own web TV show dedicated to his garage.

Jay was spotted cruising around Los Angeles in a vintage vehicle and later his 2006 Eco Jet just two of the rides from his collection which is rumoured to be worth $150million in total.

The two cars couldn't have been more different proving the wide range of cars his collection.

Jay smiled from behind the wheel of a shiny classic car thought to be a 1937 Cord 810 Phaeton in maroon as he drove around on Sunday.

He then parked it up and took his state of the art futuristic Eco Jet out for a spin around Tarzana, California.

The Eco Jet is a two seater car and was born after Leno wanted to hit back at those who believed his fleet of cars is responsible for global warming.

The 63 year-old who hosted The Tonight Show on NBC for 17 years before being replaced by Jimmy Fallon teamed up with General Motors to create an environmentally friendly car that could go fast.

And it certainly does! The car is a biodiesel-powered monster with a jet turbine engine - normally only used in helicopters.

Leno has even raced the car against a plane to show off the speeds in can reach. Leno’s collection is so big that his garage accommodates specialist equipment including a water-jet cutter, sheet metal machines and a welding apparatus.

The star's impressive collection includes  McLarens, Duesenbergs and steam engines and is made up of over 100 vehicles.

JAY LENO'S 2006 ECO JET

  • The car contains two separate gas tanks; one contains the main fuel, a biodiesel soy bean oil, and the other contains a traditional clean burning jet engine fuel.
  • The JP-4 jet engine fuel is used to start the turbine easily at the beginning of a trip and also to run the engine at the end of a trip to clean it since a biodiesel fuel tends to gum up a turbine (causing it to seize) if the biofuel is not cleared.
  • The exhaust air is 1000 degrees Fahrenheit in normal operation and 1800 Fahrenheit at full power.
  • The car runs on refined cooking oil and so it gives off the same kind of smell created by cooking French fries.
  • The car has a fully featured Azentek PC running Microsoft Windows Vista, with two LCD screens on the dashboard, one for the aircraft style digital gauges and another for the media and navigation.
  • Two other smaller LCD screens are placed on the dashboard to provide rear views, as the car has no rear view mirrors and uses cameras instead.
  • The functions are controlled by Touchscreen or by Speech recognition software using a multiple microphone array.
  • The car was assembled by the Big Dog crew (mechanics employed by Jay Leno, usually to help him maintain his large collection of cars).
  • There’s no info on pricing but given its aesthetics, it has to be worth thousands.

Pretty sure that's called sarcasm - as in, the writer thinks it's an ugly car.

"The car has a fully featured Azentek PC running Microsoft Windows Vista"... so if he crashes a simple CTRL-ALT-DEL should get things going again in no time!!

I thought he had sold most of his collection to the middle east fairly recently?

If it were not for people like Jay Leno collecting these classics and in most cases restoring them, then many of these great cars and marques would be lost forever. Pretty stupid trying to blame him for contributing towards global warming. He can only drive one car at a time.

Why all the red arrows for those who comment against Leno? He is a back stabbing, cry baby. Why else would the network want him off? He's past his sell by date...keeping driving around and around L.A.in your fancy cars....maybe someone will notice you.

The Koenigsegg burns ethanol or standard petrol. Leno's car runs on biodiesel and jet fuel. Ethanol and biodiesel are two very different things. So to answer your question, yes, you are very wrong.
