What a difference a week makes: Pregnant Lauren Silverman beams following a romantic dinner date with Simon Cowell

Little more than a week ago there appeared to be trouble in paradise when Simon Cowell’s lap provided a makeshift seat for the shapely bottom of his former girlfriend, Terri Seymour.

But a lot can happen in seven days, and so it proved on Saturday when an evidently loved up Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman made their way home following a romantic dinner date at West Hollywood eatery Cecconi’s.

Indeed, the couple were in a cheerful mood as they nestled into the back of their chauffeur driven car, with Lauren flashing a wide smile that was not in evidence during an outing in New York on Monday.

That appearance was her first following the emergence of pictures showing an uncharacteristically camera shy Cowell celebrating his 54th birthday with old flame Seymour at another Hollywood restaurant, Sur.

The 36-year-old appeared anxious as she stepped out for a shopping trip in Manhattan, but her expression was markedly different following another day out with Cowell.

Lauren opted for a lacy black dress ahead of their night out at the hugely popular Italian brasserie, while the X Factor judge went for a pair of baggy boot cut jeans and a white shirt that appeared to be unbuttoned, exposing his bare chest.

Things were clearly looking up for the high flying couple as they took a trip in Simon's Bentley to an airport in Van Nuys before boarding a private jet.

Lauren showed off her growing baby bump in a black vest top and jeans and carried a hat as she made her way to the plane.

Simon was clad in his usual jeans and a white T-shirt and was spotted hugging a friend as Lauren placed a protective hand over her bump.

The bubbly brunette appeared to be in a great mood as she waved goodbye to their pals before climbing aboard the aircraft.

The flight came a day after the couple tried to move on from their troubles by strategically choosing to have lunch at The Ivy, a Los Angeles hot spot that stars purposely visit if they want to be seen.

Yet, their sighting may have been a bit too planned, as Cowell was snapped awkwardly kissing his pregnant girlfriend with his eyes wide open.

Meanwhile, Lauren appeared lost in the moment that she had hoped to be romantic, keeping her eyes shut as she leaned in towards her beau.

The pair were wearing sunglasses, so it couldn't have been easy to lock lips with their accessories interfering.

Still, Cowell didn't appear too into the kiss, barely puckering his pout as the two embraced.

But at least Lauren wasn't concerned about Simon's former fling, locking hands with The X Factor judge and flirtatiously smiling at him when they came up for a breather.

Dressing up for her day date, the socialite sported a sheer, blush blouse adorned with lace around the collar.

She teamed the elegant shirt with a pair of skinny jeans and pointed, cap-toe pumps that coordinated with her blouse.

Cowell stepped up his style game too, sporting a nice cotton blouse, designer denim trousers and black dress shoes.

Though, he could have gone without unbuttoning his shirt, which gave way to a little too much of his scruffy chest.

After leaving lunch, the couple was seen scouting coconuts, pineapples, and melons at Whole Foods Market.

Showing he's lucky to have such a fun girlfriend, Lauren looked like she attempted to make a joke about her melons.

But Cowell was more concerned about his coconuts.

She's always so aware of the paps. And she loves it. If I was her and truly in love I'd by staring at him when in the car rather than smiling for the paps. This is a business arrangement.
