Bachelor star Sean Lowe's devout Christian parents 'snub his and bride-to-be Catherine Giudici's engagement party'

Sean Lowe, Catherine Giudici and all of their friends are gearing up for the big day, but it seems not everyone is excited about the upcoming nuptials.
Lowe's family and friends were visibly absent at the couple's engagement party, which was held at the Ballard Annex Oyster House in Seattle, Washington earlier this month, according to reports.
The party was thrown by Catherine's mother and bridesmaids.
Happy couple in love: Sean Lowe and his fiancée Catherine Giudici hosted their engagement party at Ballard Annex Oyster House in Seattle, Washington earlier this month
Meeting the parents: Sean's parents are seen here on the Bachelor meeting the final two women. They did not attend the engagement party
'It was weird to have an engagement without the grooms’ family,' a source told Radaronline.
'The guests included only her friends and family and not his. I think that says a lot about how Sean’s family feels about her.'
Lowe is a devout Christian and the source said that Lowe's family doesn't approve of Catherine because 'she's not Christian enough'.
Couple in love: The couple enjoys a night on the town as they pose for a picture on Monday night at the Knot Gala at New York Public Library Astor Hall
Full speed ahead: The wedding ceremony will be broadcast on live television at the end of January for millions of viewers
'I don’t think their families are on same page,' the insider revealed.
'She’s not Christian enough; too edgy.'
Regardless, wedding plans are full steam ahead and the couple will be getting hitched in the very first Bachelor wedding to be telecast live on TV.
Their love story will play out with millions of viewers and Bachelor Nation when ABC televises their much-anticipated wedding: The Bachelor: Sean and Catherine's Wedding.
Thank you all for the kind words!

In case you didn't hear, I'm marrying my best friend @clmgiudici Jan 26th! Oh and it's going to be shot live on ABC so you're all invited.

The ceremony will air on Sunday, January 26 next year.
'It's really exciting,' Lowe told People. 'Time has just flown by – I think January is going to sneak up on us pretty quickly!'
Nice bling: Catherine and Sean show off her stunning engagement ring during an appearance in Vancouver, Canada on July 23, 2013
'I think it's only natural to have it on TV seeing as how our relationship started. This will be a cool opportunity to share the most special day of our lives with all the people who have been invested in us along the way."
Sean and Catherine plan on exchanging personalized vows and will be honeymooning someplace tropical.
The 27-year-old bride is still on the hunt for that perfect dress.
'I haven't found my dress yet,' she said. 'I know I want it to be form-fitting ... Not too princessy.'
The couple, who became engaged in beautiful, exotic Thailand at the finish of filming Sean’s 17th edition of The Bachelor in November 2012, will let viewers in on all the exciting festivities from planning the big day, to the next stage of their romantic journey with a beautiful wedding ceremony in the perfect location.
Past Bachelor and Bachelorette couples, stars and participants, all of which will be announced at a later date along with the location, will be on the guest list to help the couple celebrate along with their families and friends.
Sean and Catherine will join Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenberg as the fourth couple in franchise history to marry.

The 29-year-old began by being one of the favorites to capture Emily Maynard’s heart on the eighth edition of The Bachelorette in spring 2012.
He narrowly missed his goal to find his soulmate when Emily – who all season long called him the perfect man - made him the last bachelor eliminated before the finale.
It seemed to completely blindside Sean, who finally was able to admit to Emily that he was in love with her.
I do: Sean proposes to Catherine on ABC's The Bachelor Season 17
Happy groom: Sean arrives at the Liquid Pool Lounge at the Aria Resort & Casino at CityCenter on August 3, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada
But when it was his chance to hand out the roses, Sean became smitten with Catherine and proposed.
Sean and Catherine are currently living separately in Dallas and are waiting to move in together after they are married.
The couple is looking forward to setting up their own home and starting a family.

Sad, if the reason is that they feel she is not "Christian enough." The Christian action would be to attend, regardless. In the long run, they will regret that decision.
